Relevant Experience
• Successfully conducted the synthesis and characterization of aluminum acetyl acetanoate lab experiment, which was the first time it worked in University’s history.
• Worked on preparation of samples, blanks and standards for qPCR analysis, which involved application of previously developed fecal markers for forensic analysis of point source contamination for a University client.
• Communicated and demonstrated scientific concepts to OMSI visitors; researched new lab experiments; stocked, stored, and prepared lab materials; performed lab cleanup and maintenance; and held MSDS certification to handle, utilize and store chemicals.
• Understanding of scientific principles and practices and use of established methodology, processes and equipment to analyze complex samples, including: GC/MS, FTIR, UV, rapid biochemical assay, PCR, basic microbial diagnostics, ELISA, chemical characterization, analytical procedure and methodology, and bulk synthesis/derivatives of complex analytes.
• Experience writing business and technical reports and documenting lab test results.
• Extensive use of MS Office applications.
