11/09 – 08/10 Amedisys, Baton Rouge, LA

Software Development Manager: Managed a development team of 25 to enhance the legacy system. Started a small support team to work trouble tickets installing over 120 fixes and closing over 300 tickets in the first three months of existence. Developed the team charter and Standard Operating Procedures for the team. Installed a minor change process in the change methodology.

2000 - 2009 Walt Disney World, Orlando, FL

MANAGER IT: Managed a large (20-35) support staff for the development and support of distributed systems for Parks and Resorts and the associated $4.5 million budget. Along with the support of multiple systems, managed on average of 10 to 15 projects per year using .net C#, Silver Light and AJAX with SQL Server. Maintained strong team morale while most of IT was going through a period of retention issues. Worked on the Project Methodology Committee (PMC) through-out tenure at WDW including being voted twice for one-year terms as co-chairperson.

Major Accomplishments:

• Worked with the Support team to resolve technical issues on 28 systems in a variety of client server and distributed systems platforms expanding to almost 100 systems, maintaining a flat support expense.

• Successfully outsourced multiple systems to IBM working with IBM and their off-shore team in India to maintain a high level of support.

• Spearheaded bringing .net development into WDW having the first proto-type .net C# development project and successfully having .net accepted as a development standard.

• Integrated projects and systems with Disneyland, Hong Kong, Paris and Tokyo Parks.

• Led turning the Summit Development Methodology into a streamlined Walt Disney specific methodology that was adopted throughout WDW divisions.

• Recommended and helped formulate a PM training curriculum in coordination with Boston University receiving the Boston University Project Management Certificate.

1994 - 2000 Harcourt, Inc., Orlando, FL

IT Manager/Acting Director: Managed a large (25) support staff for the mainstream business system and several development teams for a variety of system platforms. In 1999 was made Acting Director for Business Systems Development (Staff of 40).

Main Accomplishment: Replaced a main business system using new client server technologies interfacing with mainframe COBOL DB2 technology. The client server technology consisted of an NT data server, PowerBuilder as the development language and MS Sequel Server as the database. Coordinated the flow of information over three platforms to process $150 million of orders through the state of Texas, doubling the throughput of the Texas warehouse.

1990 - 1994 Watkins Motor Lines, Lakeland, FL

MANAGER SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT: Managed the financial functional support group of up to 15 Programmers and Analysts in supporting MSA systems for GL, AP, FA and PR/HR and additional in house systems. 1/93. Helped develop a business information services group to better handle front end project phases including scope, requirements identification and analysis using techniques such as JAD sessions, modeling and proto-typing.

Major Accomplishment: Replaced 15 year old contract payment system tying into MSA AP, a project that had failed 3 times under other managers.

Pre 1990

Travelers/EBS, Inc., Maitland, FL MANAGER ANALYSIS & DESIGN: Managed the detail design of new specialized agency software packages in a client server environment using Oracle and ‘C’ for a GUI look and feel to replace old minicomputer systems.

Red Lobster, Orlando, FL APPLICATIONS MANAGER:, Hired in as a Senior P/A. Promoted to Project Lead the first year and Manager two years later. Followed Arthur Anderson’s Method 1 Development Standards. Was the Southeastern M & D User Group Chairman. Areas managed include Financial Systems, POS, QA and PC Support.

Major Accomplishments: installation of M & D AP and GL Systems. Installed PCs in all restaurants with management reporting. Replaced legacy POS with a Fine Dining POS System in conjunction with IBM in a token ring environment, standardizing PC hardware and software.

Honors: Inducted into the WHO’s WHO Historical Society, Appearing in the 2000 edition of International WHO’s WHO of Information Technology.

Nominated twice for Walt Disney World’s Partner in Excellence Award.

Included in the 2009 Strathmore’s Who’s Who for leadership and achievement in business.
