Title : VALVE SEQUENCE SELECTION IN GAS BLEEDER USING PLC
Aim : This is done by controlling the valves in the gas bleeder, the valves present in
the gas bleeder are operated in a sequence using PLC, in previous system they are
controlled manually, in this any valve fails the whole system comes to halt. So by
using PLC this problem is being overcome.
Description:
This project work involves in the increase in the availabilities of the number of sequences of the four valves using PLC for the operation of the gas bleeder. Co-gas is supplied to the SMS, Rolling Mills, Cock Oven batteries and auxiliary shops in a network line. Co-gas pressure in the network line designed to maintain at 800mmWc to run the above department. If the gas pressure increases above the preset valve, the excess gas bleeders through the gas bleeder to the atmosphere and burned. If the gas bleeder are not open, safety drip pot and boosters in the gas line gets open, which causes production loss and very much harmful to human being.
In VSP co-gas is maintained at a constant pressure, this is done by controlling the valves in the gas bleeder, the valves present in the gas bleeder are operated in a sequence using PLC, in previous system they are controlled manually, in this any valve fails the whole system comes to halt. So by using PLC this problem is being overcome.
The main advantage of PLC is the inherent feature of programming so that the logic introduced in the PLC can be employed at any times as per the bleeder requirement without doing any change in the wiring. The maintenance to the PLC is very easy and is having a power full feature of even recording in mille-seconds.
M.Tech Project:
Title : DEVELOPMENT OF DMT BASED MODEM USING TMS320C6713DSK
Aim : To increase is the speed of data transmission rate between two PC’s using DMT
technique.
Tools : CC Studio, MATLAB 9.0
Description:
This project discusses the design and implementation of an OFDM modem for a simplex communication between two PCs over a frequency selective channel. First a brief introduction is provided by explaining the backrground and the specification of the project. Then the report deals with the system model. Each block of the OFDM system is described (IFFT/FFT, cyclic prefix, modulation/demodulation, channel estimation, bit loading). In the following section, the system architecture is analyzed. The transmission protocol, as well as the system parameters is explained in details. Then, the DSP implementation is discussed.
The goal of this project is to design and implement a point-to-point digital communication between two PC’s over a channel with similar characteristic as a telephone line. A feedback channel is used to estimate the channel and to adapt the bit rate of each subcarrier. We shall provide the possibility to transmit source files (pictures, text ...) and to display those on the screen at the receiver. An graphical interface shall be implemented in order to be able to change every relevant parameter in real time.
This project discusses totally, we have presented the use of contemporary computer-based design and development tools for the system level design and implementation of an OFDM transceiver. In general, the idea is that this methodology facilitates for modeling and evaluating, through simulations, complex signal processing systems and furthermore allows to automatically generating code so as to implement and test them using real-life laboratory equipment. Finally, this concept can be adopted for both educational and research purposes.
