Entrepreneur

Initially a way to make money while in college, this business has grown into a full-service online retail store where items are shipped worldwide on a daily basis. Growing this business has helped me sharpen my business / finance skills, while keeping core concepts such as understanding and reaching my target market and making maximum profit a part of my daily responsibilities.

• Work with a wide range of buyers, sellers and items (from Jimmy Choo shoes to a 1965 Triumph Motor Car) forcing conscientious and abstract thinking from different perspectives, while determining the best selling strategy for each item

• Reach maximum number of target buyers/make maximum profit by researching and determining the following:

o The best time for each item to be listed and time of listing to end. For example, designer jeans auction to end at 9pm and antiques auction to end at 12 noon

o The length of listing. For example, shorter time for high demand items and longer time for more specialized items with fewer potential buyers

o User search habits and listing titles/categories. For example, "Rock & Republic" hats sold better under the “jeans” category instead of “men’s accessories” while being listed as the slang “R&R” in addition to “Rock & Republic”

• Perform customer service: maintaining listings/responding to inquires resulting in long lasting relationships with customers.
