Education

Northeastern University, Boston, MA May 2010

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, GPA: 3.10

Capstone Major Design Project: Hydraulic Regenerative Braking System

•Researched, conceptualized, and designed an aftermarket regenerative braking system for the Ford Crown Victoria taxi market.

•The system captured energy from the vehicle driveshaft upon braking using a hydraulic pump, stored energy as compressed nitrogen gas in an accumulator, and released energy back to the driveshaft using a hydraulic motor to accelerate the vehicle.

•A test fixture was designed to simulate the effectiveness of the energy capture, storage and release of the system.

•The project included of a technical report, a complete model and drawing package, and presentations.

Technical Courses: ME Design, Heat Transfer, System Analysis and Control, Measurement and Analysis, Fluid Mechanics, Finite Element Analysis, Dynamics and Vibrations, Thermodynamics, Materials Science, Mechanics of Materials, Electrical Engineering, Internal Combustion Engines, Writing in the Technical Profession
