Academic Project - The apparatus designed in this project, known as the “COMFO-STAT”, is a special thermostat that, upon sensing the temperature and humidity of a space, can operate the building HVAC system in a manner as to maintain a more thermally comfortable environment for the occupants of the space in an efficient manner. The objectives in designing such an apparatus include defining a method to evaluate thermal comfort, and finding a way to operate the existing components of an HVAC system in order to achieve the defined thermal comfort.
Thesis/Research work - Simulation and prediction of a manufacturing process using Artificial Neural Network (ANN) for data acquired from turning machine using Matlab GUI for data recording. Data such as cutting forces, vibration of tool and surface finish measured was utilized to predict the cutting tool behavior resulting into longer cutter life, better surface finish and reduction in cost.
Thermal and Fluid Science - Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger Design - The specific type of heat exchanger this design project covers is a tubular heat exchanger. This type of heat exchanger is built of circular tubes
Mechanical Design - The EZ Lift wheel chair lift mechanism is a vehicle boarding system used for the handicap or wheelchair bound. The system utilizes a four bar linkage system which lifts the chair platform from a grounded position to a storage position inside the vehicle.
Mechanical Design - The objective of this project is to recognize the motion of the cam follower. Therefore, by using the recommended equations the analytical approach can be achieved. And also by using the displacement diagram and first and second derivatives of the cam follower motion the graphical approach can be achieved as well.
