Experience: I have over five years experience in a fast paced medical office, with experience ranging from the front desk (6 months), to a clinical and surgical tech (over 4 years). Having had experience at a prestigious law firm where I worked as an office supervisor over 10 people. I am well rounded in clerical work and many different software programs in both the medical and business environment. I have had secular training in and am extremely proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Medisoft appointment software and Chartlogic software. I have extensive experience in both surgery and clinical aspects of a medical office. I am trained on using the Orbscan, Visx Wave Scan, IOL master, manual pachymetry, Manual K’s, Visual Field testing, VA’s, IOP checks, dilated examinations, Intralase laser, VISX excimer laser trained, microkeratome, and have extensive experiencing in patient care, transcribing, doctor shadowing, working with patients face to face, history taking, surgical prep, and assisting in many different types of surgeries in ophthalmology.
For example, I have assisted in refractive surgeries using the microkeratome, intralase laser, PRK with MMC, also I have assisted in blephroplasties, Intacs, removal and addition of sutures in to the cornea, insertion and removal of punctum plugs, all in a sterile environment. I was also the OR supervisor for over 3 years. Additionally I have experience in a fast paced pain center. I have experience in checking vitals, patient research, IM and subq injections, urine analysis, procedure scheduling, insurance and lien verification, deposition assistance, physician shadowing, scribing, obtaining and reading x-rays and MRI’s, blood glucose testing, and patient care.
