CAPSULE HISTORY:
In 1986 received formal training in OSHA enforcement as a Compliance Officer for the Washington State Dept. of Labor & Industries. Began performing contract work in petroleum refineries and new construction in 2000 where my duties were site representation and certified training. Moved to HSE Plant Manager in 2003 for a lumber mill and performed as trainer, site rep, environmental supervisor, and was instrumental in setting up horizontal lifeline system and training programs. In 2004 accepted a position as primary trainer of a 15 module refinery and construction training program. Performed site work and delivered training programs in WA, MT, PA, TX, and CA. Classroom size varied from 1-60 trainees. Performed fit tests, drug tests, and orientations. Continued with refinery project work until 2007 accepting position as HSE Supervisor for a GC on an $80 million casino/hotel project. Set up evacuation and incident protocols, approved safety plans, enforced OSHA/EPA/NFPA standards, site safety plan, and environmental compliance for 30+ subcontractors. Hired in 2010 as most senior safety engineer for a federal contract construction group on a 500 employee, 30 subcontractor project. Liaised with client and governmental regulators. Performed field and equipment inspections.
