Accomplishments

I went to the Marines 3 days after I received my diploma, graduated number 1 of 500 graduates at boot camp, and reached the rank of Non Commissioned officer in 1.5 years. Trained as an assault rifleman and a combat communications repairman. First tour of duty was the assault on Afghanistan in 2008. In charge of a small group of 5 combat communication technicians. Second tour of duty in Afghanistan 2009-2010 promoted to Platoon Sergeant in charge with the lives of 30 Marines where I was responsible for their well being, mentally, physically, emotionally, and had to motivate them when times were tough to keep their heads up. With their lives in danger every day I had to make sure they strapped their boots up, stepped up to the plate and against all odds hit a home run for what we believe in. My native language is English, I speak fluent Spanish, and I’m enrolled in classes to learn Chinese.

Trained to be an assault rifleman with 4 years consecutive expert shooting. Trained in the Marine Corps school of electronics to be a combat communications repairman from Jan 2007- October 2007. Picked up the rank of non commissioned officer of Corporal. Learned to become an effective leader where the lives of others were being gambled on my actions. I had to grow up faster than most when you step into 130 degree weather in the Middle East. Hard work, sweat, blood, and tears made me appreciate the little things in life that I took for granted as a kid. I was taught to seek knowledge and wisdom from those with experience and to learn to work with an attitude that failure is not an option. That only practice and repetition over and over again until it is muscle memory will be the key to success in any task.
