Senior Project Manager

Provide scouting services for potential project opportunities; identification of preliminary project scope and development of project proposals for a client base representing local chemical industry, refinery and mid-stream companies. Lead multi-discipline project teams in the development of project scope definition, detailed engineering, cost estimates and construction packages. Provide specialized project engineering support including P&ID development, hydraulic analysis, stress analysis and code calculations. Manage all project activities including project cost control, schedule, client communication and status reporting.

• Successfully developed strong client relations through consistent delivery of projects on schedule and within budget. Successfully developed client relationships and earned a high degree of client respect and trust that frequently led to repeat business.

Senior Project Engineer – North America Improvements Group

Served as project manager for a wide variety of medium to large size projects including retrofit of an existing bulk loading facility and expansion of a polymer flash system.

• Provided leadership in development of new project engineering group standard practices including FEL project development and establishing new methods of project implementation through use of outside contract services.

BASELL POLYOLEFINS 08/05 to 07/06

Maintenance Mechanical Engineer - Fixed Assets/Mechanical Integrity

Served as lead mechanical integrity (MI) engineer for $500 MM+ polymer chemical facility. Duties included standardization of MI procedures, redraft of all applicable procedures and overseeing the conversion of existing MI program to an UltraPipe driven system.

• Provided engineering expertise and technical maintenance support, mechanical equipment problem solving (RCA), oversight of critical repairs and overhauls and coordination of maintenance procedure revision/development.

BASELL POLYOLEFINS 05/03 – 08/05

Project Manager

Provided overall project management for the reinstatement of a mothballed $145MM polypropylene production facility. Project included full cycle management from conceptual planning through start-up and required staffing through 100% outsourcing including resources of over 160 personnel, engineers and contractors. The successful restart resulted in the on-schedule and on-budget return to service of a 480MM lb/yr capacity polymer plant after an idle period of over 6 years.

• Effectively served as acting department head for routine and extended absences of the Site Engineering/Construction Manager.

• Served as mechanical design coordinator for a $47MM CATALOY production facility and a $55MM Propylene Splitter.

Reliability Engineer 03/02 – 05/03

Primary duties included identification of opportunities to improve site performance through increased reliability and operability. Provided Project Design Specifications (PDS) including system evaluation, engineering design, P&ID development, equipment specifications and economic justification for multiple reliability improvement projects.

Mechanical Engineer – Project Group 09/81 – 03/02

Duties included development and implementation of plant capital projects routinely ranging in size from >$50K to <$5MM. Provided all facets of project development including Project Scope Development, generation of PFD’s/P&ID’s, estimating, economic justification, appropriation requests, detailed design, management of procurement, construction implementation and cost control.

• Successfully coordinated design/construction of multiple large projects including a $60MM Polymer Extrusion facility.

• Served as site construction coordinator; managed on site service contract and fabrication shop including contract resources numbering up to 150 personnel.

• Developed fully equipped fabrication shop and generated welding standards/procedures for certification of all project and maintenance related welding.

• Developed site excavation standards and procedures.
