• Modeling and analyses of various ship structures using general purpose FE software package ANSYS 11.0

Some of the important analyses performed have been listed below:

 FE verification of seating’s arrangement for various machineries and weapons such as IR launcher, Brahmos –UVLM, different type of pumps, Plummer block, blast deflector for IR launcher etc.

 FE verification of ship structures such as funnel, Foremast, transom, decks, bulkheads, hull structures, hull structure above propeller region etc.

 Detailed FE model of entire hull structure.

 Detailed documentation for all analyses performed including optimization of all scantlings for ship structures.

Analyses include static, transient dynamic, harmonic & modal types.

• Prepared decks plan, shell expansion, transverse section, longitudinal sections, floors & stringer arrangements for whole ship using CAD software application AutoCAD.

• Prepared 2D & 3D layout drawings for various ship structure such as bulwark, anchor arrangement sonar dome bracket arrangement in SAM launcher foundation ,ship compartment etc

• Feasibility study in terms of location and accommodation of equipment & system in general arrangement of ship & preparation of scrutiny of layout drawings.

• Prepared excel spread sheets for calculation of section modulus of ship sections & loads as per various ship rules

• Optimization of various scantlings of structures in order to overcome failure criteria.

• Modification of 2D drawings as per changes in General Arrangement.

• Planning detailed engineering activities and finalization of requirements and specifications.

• Database management for local structural intranet website.

• Preparation of technical data package by assembling all data of block drawings, technical details of all machinery equipments ,FE verification reports of various ship structures, naval ship standards, technical data etc
