Description:

The project is a system conversion from PL1 language to EPLI language. A new version of PL/1, called Enterprise PL/1 was released. Sun Life has a suite of applications supporting its "Individual" group of Business. These applications are currently on PL1 platform. IBM, who is the vendor supporting the PL1 has announced to discontinue its support to PL1 arising the need to migrate the applications from PL1 to EPL1. This project will migrate a sub-set of the 22,000 PL1 programs between 12,000-17,000 programs to the new Enterprise PL/1. There are 23 applications to migrate.

The system load are categorized into 3 types

1. Batch

2. Online

3. Telon

Responsibilities:

• Day-to-day communication with Onsite Coordinator (OSC) – provides status, discuss queries and issues, and seek resolution.

• Responsible for identifying changes and implementing approved change requests.

• Participation in estimation along with offshore PM/PL/TL and obtaining client sign-off for deliverables.

• Creating XREF document (Also Called Requirement document).

• Enhanced “PL1, DB2 and IMS” batch program.

• Developed “PL1 and MQ” online programs.

• Developed SIT test cases, UAT test cases.

• Involved in unit testing, Debugging.

• Developed “JCL's and PROC's” for batch execution.

This project is a Data masking of different system fields. Sun life Life Assurance (Life insurance) module consists of 28 systems each system having DB2 and IMS database tables, Most of Production data related to system stored into DB2 and IMS tables. Masking production data and provided to further analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Provided status, discuss queries and issues, and seek resolution.

• Analyzing Source System data.

• Worked on Informatica – Source Analyzer, Mapping Designer, Mapplet and Transformations.

• Involved in importing Source/Target Tables from the respective databases.

• Developed data Mappings between source tables and target components using Mapping Designer.
