February 2006 – July 2009: Firmware DVT Sr Staff Engineer

Primary responsibility: working closely with Industrial Partners testing newly unreleased PC and Nearline chipsets including Protocol Validation and Signal Integrity on SAS and SATA interfaces. Worked closely with Indutrial Partners by providing detailed root-cause failure analysis on all issues discovered using Seagate’s best in class compatibility resources, and validated all corrective actions. Provide detailed final reports and maintained HTML website to Industrial Partners of all testing completed. Industrial Partners include Intel, AMD, nVidia, LSI, Adaptec, PMC-Sierra, Intel Enterprise Solutions, Promise, Emulex, Marvel and many second-tier Partners

Secondary responsibilities: create and maintain test scripts used to vailidate new hardware and firmware features on SAS/SATA interfaces including error injection with CATC and Catalyst protocol jammers. Demo all new 6Gb SAS/SATA protocol analyzers and error injection tools from Lecroy, Finisar and SerialTek and make recommendations to other departments on which product fits Seagate’s needs best. Assisted SerialTek with debugging prototype 6Gb analyzer. Mentor and assist lower level Product Application and Field Engineers with SATA related issues by reviewing bus traces and root cause failure analysis of customer and field reported issues.

May 1999 – Feb 2006: Firmware DVT Staff Engineer

Responsible for testing new Firmware features by creating new test scripts that would be handed off to regression test beds. While in this position, I was responsible for the developing test scripts for new Serial ATA products and all new related features that applied to this new interface. Responsible for preparing Seagate’s compliance and with SATA Interoperability Logo certification.
