Projects Summary

Project name: Atheer BI, Company: MTC Telecom, this was a huge project and was under development from last 4 years. The project was architected with oracle 10g RAC cluster with Oracle Discoverer as reporting tool. I worked on this project as Senior Software Engineer and my duties were to create its architecture, Write modules to convert MSC‘s CDRs (call detail records) to normalized form and validate them before loading them into data warehouse. I also worked on its reporting system developed in OBIEE 10.1.3.3

Worked with Zain Group Bharin Project Named Matrix using state of art technologies like Oracle 11g, OWB and OBIEE. I Designed the project architecture and database design. The project collects data from 22 Telecom Operation Areas and loads it into a central data warehouse. Since data comes in different formats, therefore, it’s a big challenge to convert it into one format for its proper loading. My duties in this project were to design the architecture for data integration, suggest solution for data integration, suggest hardware and software specifications, direct development teams in write ETL jobs, suggest performance matrixes for DBAs. I designed it reporting architecture using SOA and OBIEE 10.1.3.4.1 and with weblogic server. The report system has HA architecture with a load balancer

Worked with Zain Africa(Nigeria) With Oracle Corporation on projects named OMKS (oracle mobile knowledge solution) using state of art technologies like OWB, OBIEE ,oracle RAC cluster and oracle application server. The project was developed by Oracle corporation and i participated in its performance tuning and UAT. I also trained Zain Africa team in data warehouse management and OSS/BSS business procedures.

Worked with Net Pace Karachi on project named Touch Stone investigation Portal, It was a very complex ERP project. I designed its database according to the business process. I also designed its architecture. My designation in this project was Senior Oracle database designer.

Responsibilities

Project was developed in Oracle warehouse builder 11g and OBIEE 10.1.3.4.1 using Oracle 11g. It is a two node RAC cluster in oracle and two node Failover cluster (Sun cluster 3.2) with network load balancer. My responsibilities in this project includes

• Designed and develop the whole project architect. I not only designed the above architecture but also deployed it. The project deployment has to be certified by Sun Microsystems before its been declared fit for production

Analytical Duties

Performance Tuning of ETL

Performed mappings and jobs optimization, in order to reduce the execution time of the Data warehouse batch. The batch, before optimization took 20-22 hours to complete, after optimization the batch execution time has been reduced to 6-8 hours.

Reports optimization

The Business Intelligence Reports were taking 40-60 minute/report on average to execute. Each of the Business Intelligence Reports was analyzed and was optimized accordingly. After optimization, the execution time was reduced to 2-3 minutes for a report to show up.
