LuK USA is a highly integrated and automated manufacturing facility that combines the best of European and American technology. It produces both original equipment and service parts for the automotive drivetrain market. LuK is an acronym from Lamellen und Kupplungsbau – the German words for “building clutches and discs.” That’s right…spelled with a big “L”, a little “u”, and a big “K”!
In the U.S., LuK products are the original equipment in Ford, General Motors, DaimlerChrysler, Toyota, and Mazda. Additionally, a multitude of other on and off-road vehicles are equipped with Allison automatic transmissions. We recently added Honda and Nissan to our customer base. At LuK, our avenue for continued growth and success includes development activities in release systems, dual mass flywheels, and LuK designed torque converters for future generation applications. LuK USA also serves the aftermarket through a distribution division located in Valley City, Ohio.
