MIS Manager
Isleta Casino & Resort Albuquerque, New Mexico December 1995 – September 2000
Managed all aspects of the MIS Department for five years, and as the Casino business grew, built it up from a one-man department to a staff of six.
Designed, implemented and worked with contractors to give total connectivity throughout all buildings on the campus. Maintained a multi-platform network using Novell, Windows NT, Unix, and IBM AS/400 all on the same wire using a switched Ethernet network with Cisco equipment.
Used both Rumba and IBM Client Access software for AS/400 connectivity and EM320 for connectivity to the Unix (SDS) system.
Designed and partially implemented the entire network infrastructure at the Isleta Casino & Resort new facility. Managed an I.S. construction budget of $7M.
Implemented a training service within the MIS department. The purpose of this service was to train all computer users at Isleta how to most effectively utilize the software tools available to them.
Primary responsibilities included MIS department budgeting, project management, purchasing hardware and software, backups and system administration.
Supervise a staff of six employees.
