The Project Description
The client is American International Group, Inc. (AIG), a world leader in insurance and financial services. Head – Quartered in Dallas, TX.
Team Lead with 5 Team members, tracks/monitors status of job through computing process. Maintains appropriate logs. Respond to user inquiries and communicate with computing staff to expedite or clarify status.
Receives, verifies, logs and prepares user jobs for processing, referring to work request, production schedule, and established operating procedures. Performs various input control checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of job/data submitted.
Responsibilities:
Production control from Onsite(Houston TX) and offshore India.
Tracks/monitors status of job through CA7.
Abended jobs status will be notified to the appropriate Production support person.
Open a Peregrine ticket for each abended job, update the ticket for the steps taken and after successful completion of the job closing the ticket

The Project Description
This project work consists of maintenance and production support, coordination with Onsite Team. Maintenance involves, receiving the customer requests from the client which might involve recoding the source programs and/or enhancements to updated functionalities etc. The requests are forwarded in a form called the LOG which consists the specification of the problem with a Log Number. After analysis, this LOG is allotted to the team by the module/project lead and a technical design document is prepared. On successful review of the doc, coding is done. A walkthru is done on the code to check for coding standards and functionality. Now the reviewed code is tested by running it against some test data which probably is picked up from production data or is created as the need may be.
Oncall support involves monitoring the production cycles and fixing up the abends in case of problems. The jobs are monitored using CA-7. The problems might be database locks, resources unavailable, space abends, FTP, bad data etc.
