I have worked on many types of projects during my career. My last project, The Californian (highrise/hi-end condominiums) was my 65th building. I have done tilt-up warehouses, seismic upgrade and renovation of 12-story former Playboy headquarters, office buildings (from one-story to eighty stories), hotels, retail (including nine Target stores with a staff of 17), medical office buildings, a flight training academy (with three 747 flight simulators) for ANA Airlines, state-of-the-art Sound Stages for Disney Studios Burbank, Senior Housing, highrise condominiums, apartments, and U.C.S.B. dining/administration facility to name a few. Hoag Hospital Support Services in Newport Beach was a turnkey project. In addition to the building shell & core and 911 center, we also did all the furniture/partition layouts, finishes and specifications for the nine user teams for the project. The project was designed to meet OSHPD requirements.
On all my projects, from the minute the project came in I was the main contact with the client; overseeing our design staff thru schematics and design development as well as overseeing production and construction phases (including shop drawing reviews, RFI’s, jobsite visits, owner/contractor meetings, etc.).
My last project, the 24-story Californian Condominiums, had a studio team of 6 building designers, 4 interior designers and 8 production staff that were under my guidance. The 80 units sold for between $1 million and $6 million each. I personally processed the plans thru Bldg. Dept. plan check and also obtained Planning/Zoning clearances. I also reviewed all shop drawings, RFI's, and oversaw construction phase from start to finish, attending all jobsite meetings with owner and contractor. That project was unique in that although a fast-track project, the buyers were allowed to customize the floor plans of their unit. Out of 80 units, 75 were custom.
In addition to projects I ran, since 1991 I was also Director of Production at Nadel Architects Los Angeles. I was in charge of staff continuing education, ADA updates, code updates, and our master detail/ master specs updates. In that position, I was technical advisor for entire staff, responsible for reviewing and approving new details and responding to building code issues.
I am very well qualified and have done a wide variety of building uses and types of construction.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
