I HAVE PARTICIPATED IN OVER A DOZEN STARTUP COMPANY VENTURES
I used to attend a monthly meeting of Venture Capitalists at a Dallas Galleria area Hotel where new startup companies would introduce their new products and services that they were marketing.
In most of my startup company ventures, I was one of only 4 or 5 entrepreneurs, which I loved because I got to wear a lot of hats, and in a small startup company, the most important roles I had were Business Development, Proposal Writing, Marketing, Advertising, Human Resources, Development, and Strategic Planning. Over the many years in all of my fulltime and contract positions, I worked on teams and committees, and I loved working with all of the team members like they were part of my “work families” that I stayed in touch with many of them to this day. I loved people. both within companies I have worked with and outside clients and customers as well. still to this day meet some of them and we have a luncheon reunion. Leaving each one of those companies was always a bitter-sweet occasion, sweet because I was moving upward in responsibility and stature and bitter because I had to leave my dear work friends behind, and it was always a sad and solemn and sad occasion.
I was completing a contract with SBC in Buena Park California which was cut short because SBC was merging wth AT&T. I was hired over the phone sight unseen by a division of Perot Systems in Arlington, Texas. Plus, I had an interview with a Startup group that Friday afternoon with four young entrepreneurs who's office was located on the beach in Carlsbad, California. The guys I interviewed with loved me and all of my past experience and work history, and said they would like to hire me but their company President was out of town, and he would be back on Monday and they were sure that he would hire me on the spot on Monday. This group had previously started four other startup companies and had sold them out and made lots of money on their past four startup ventures.
But stupidly, I said to them, “I’m sorry, but just accepted a position yesterday for a contract in Dallas beginning next week. “ NOTE: If i had only decided to stay the weekend to interview with their President, I would probably be a billionaire by now. So I don't want to pass up any other opportunities like that in the future.
For companies wanting to leap ahead into the future of AI, I have put together a 5-minute elevator pitch for them if they would be interested in a powerful product/service that has been stuck in my mind for over 20 years, and at each one of my assignments (i.e., contract, temp to perm, fulltime, or startup company, I have been adding to my dream product/service design idea which will become my design for the “ULTIMATE DISASTER RECOVERY SYSTEM” which will work equally for both Business and U.S. Government and Military. Through the years I have added on to my design idea using components that I realized at each one of my work assignments that the products/services that I was supporting and documenting at the time at each one of job assignment could be a key component in my “ULTIMATE DISASTER RECOVERY SYSTEM.”
I later went back to those companies and met with Presidents and VPs at those companies spoke to them about my DISASTER RECOVERY SYSTEM and about collaborating with them in its creation. With the recent revelations of AI, this makes my SYSTEM EVEN MORE CONVINCING AND INEVITABLE AND ONE THAT I’M SURE THAT THE U.S. GOVERNMENT WOULD BE HIGHLY INTERESTED IN HEARING MORE ABOUT THIS SYSTEM FROM ME.
My envisioned Ultimate Disaster Recovery System would be based on the Military’s DEFCON Escalation System that ranks a business system’s security levels similar to a military system’s security levels on a scale beginning with DEFCON 5 (normal peacetime) up to DEFCON 1 (imminent nuclear war). That escalation that was demonstrated in the feature film “WarGames (1983)” with a story line about a young man who finds a back door into a military central computer in which reality is confused with game-playing, possibly starting World War III.
This concept came to mind in an actual case in one of my startup companies where I had prepared a beautiful set of marketing materials and collateral to be demonstrated during a UNIX World Convention in New York City, but it was ruined when an earthquake in the San Francisco area damaged a building there and we were refused entry into the building to get our materials to ship them to New Work, and all of that work was in vain.
My proposed system would be ideal for a large company conglomerate with many divisions around the world.
It would prevent a company President from waking up at 7:00 am in New York to find that his division in San Francisco had been destroyed. Instead, the company president would have been notified by a phone call at 3:00 am after a series of escalations, and with one simple voice code-word issued over the phone could put into place an automated disaster recovery plan where reservations would automatically be made for airlines, hotel, and car rentals and activation of switching over to a replacement data center and hot site, and officies somewhere else in the world and when 7:00 am came around a plan for rapid recovery was already underway to get the deactivated company back in business.
When this concept came to mind, I went back to several companies where I had worked contract or fulltime jobs before and met with their Presidents, VPs, or executive management to discuss the possibility collaboration in using segments of those companies’ products and/or services as components in my proposed disaster recovery system.
I recently experienced a spiritual awakening during the second week of July 2025, when I didn’t set my alarm clock and slept in late, and any time I sleep late I remember the last scenes of my dreams, which are always like watching a movie where I am working at another company on a team or committee. In this dream, which was exactly like all of my dreams and was crystal clear like watching a movie and I was leaving a meeting and someone on the team said to me as I was waking out the door, “Don’t forget to get an IMT.”
This happened in the dream right before I woke up, and my first thought was, “What’s an IMT?” So I googled it and got the following definition:
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
WHAT IS IMT
AI Overview
"IMT" can refer to several things, but most commonly it stands for Intelligent Manual Transmission, a clutchless manual transmission system found in some Hyundai and Kia vehicles. It can also refer to an Incident Management Team, a group mobilized to manage complex emergencies. Additionally, "IMT" can stand for Integrative Manual Therapy, a holistic approach to healthcare, or Information Management Technology, a field focused on managing information using technology.
Incident Management Team (IMT):
A team dispatched to manage complex emergency incidents, providing a command and control structure.
They handle operational, logistical, informational, planning, fiscal, community, political, and safety aspects of the incident.
IMTs are used in various situations, including natural disasters and large-scale accidents.

Note: When I read the above definition, I was astounded, because this was the missing component to my Ultimate Disaster Recovery Program that was unknown to me and given to me in a dream by a voice from beyond. Without this component, my Disaster Recovery Program wouldn’t have been any better than any other Disaster Recovery Program.
UNIX/LINUX ADMINISTRATION AUTOMATION SCRIPTING PROGRAMMING
I have extensive experience in UNIX and LINUX Administration and automation using UNIX and LINUX native utilities for scripting for automation of normally time-consuming procedures such as source code change control and management, plus I can create and document Application Program Interfaces.
CONFIGURATION/CONTENT MGR & SW Release CTRL, TECH WRITER, CURRICULUM DESIGNER
Below are several samples of previous contracts that illustrate my Analysis and Specifications Management skills from conception through product/service testing and release.
EXPERIENCE IN CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT/RELEASE CONTROL, AND CONTENT MANAGEMENT
I have extensive content and change management and quality control experience beginning in the UNIX and LINUX environments SOFTWARE CHANGE CONTROL SYSTEM (SCCS) and their MARKUP LANGUAGES “troff” tshort for “typesetter roff” and with “troff” and then came “nroff” (newer roff) and IBM’s Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML) (the predecessor to HTML) which websites are designed with). Later came the document management systems like DOCUMENTUM AND SHAREPOINT that I could provide Tier One and Tier Two Support for which I could even develop “in-house” training classes to improve employee proficiency
I can provide the same level of support for the newer XML-based documentation management systems. I have Extensive Technical Writing Experience in the use of XML-based document management systems using tools like MadCap Flare and similar products such as XML-based content management systems like Astoria and SDL LiveContent (formerly named TriSoft) with their companion Editing Tool ArborText Editor.

AERONAUTICS / MANUFACTURING / INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER / SPECIALIST / TRAINER
EMBEDDED PRODUCT GUIDES. HELP, AND TRAINING
I have not been a stranger to the Manufacturing Floor and the design labs where engineers and engineering techs like me designed, developed, and tested complicated products, electronic circuits, and computer programs to control and test those products, circuits and programs, a few of which I have designed myself, plus managed the design, development of complicated Oil Production Panels for Refineries and off-sore oil rigs. But in particular, the knowledge that I gained that would allow me to be one of the perfect individuals for testing life-critical medical equipment, came from a four-year electronics technician trade school in Fort Worth where I completed 3 of the 4-year program to join the Air Force. But when I left the Air Force I eventually got a job teaching Basic Electronics at a Dallas trade school to high-school grads interested in an electronics career.
Working on Manufacturing Floors, I have designed interface circuit boards with electronics components on board to connect (PBX Systems Circuit Boards straight off of the manufacturing assembly line) to a GenRad circuit board Auto Test Machine. The interface circuitry that I designed allowed for data and control signals transfer to/from the manufactured PBX circuit boards through my interface board into the GenRad automatic test system. The Engineers wanted to program the GenRad System themselves instead of having me and other engineering techs doing it. I volunteered to write a testing manual to meet the Government Spec Standard for instruction manuals for the engineers to use for reference as they began to write the test programs for the PBX circuit boards that they had designed and developed to create the Red Switch Crypto enable PBX Telephone Systems.
I also have designed circuitry to allow manufacturing assemblers with minimal electrical and electronics exposure to use my circuitry and software programs that I wrote to perform preliminary testing and repair of newly manufactured circuit boards by performing measurements and following my step by step instructions including measurements and removal and replacement of components on the PBX board under test, by following instructions that I had including in the software to guide them in troubleshooting, including removal, and replacement step by step.
I got my experience with embedded HELP and documentation with my first of 12 StartUp companies (1) Mitek Systems (later renamed OpenConnect Systems) which was a StartUp company that I stayed with for an entire year before selling my stock options with the President’s permission. At OpenConnect Systems, I
worked with an Assembly Language Programmer to embed HELP information into the operating system. Later on at(2) Control Systems International, I with a group of Technical Writers to created embedded HELP information and online documentation using a HELP Authoring System named MadCap Flare (which was referred to as a HELP AUTHORING TOOL (HAT) that became a predecessor to the now popular XML-based distributed system referred to as Structured Authoring that is used not just for online documentation and HELP but paper based information as well. MadCap Flare broke up the information into small bite-size bits of data, that can be reused in many different places so when changes occur you only have to make the change in one place.
The third company (3) Digital Lightwave (which was located on Digital Lightwave Drive in Clearwater, FL before the company was purchased by VirTex (VeEX) and their manufacturing was moved to St Petersburg, FL. At Digital Lightwave, I used the ROBO-HELP to embed Self-Help information and training material to teach product users how to use the Fiber Optics Analyzer that contained many different measurement functions. ROBO-HELP Required a complicated multi-process procedure to publish written HELP information and updates for new software and feature releases. My contract was a contract to hire, but at the end of my contract I chose to take a new contract in Los Angeles. I loved Digital Lightwave, their staff, and their fine products but business was slow and the company was sold a couple of months down the road. Before I left, I spent a couple of weeks with a new full-time Technical Writer teaching him the complicated system of publishing embedded HELP information, and I produced what I liked to refer to as a beautiful set of two 8-1/2 by 11 multicolor block diagram posters that I was really proud of and made them part of my portfolio. = = = SEE THE NOTE IN THE PARAGRAPH BELOW = = =
Speaking of my Visio and SmartDraw and CorelDraw and PhotoShop skills have been a big hit at all of my past contracts, so much so that as soon as they discovered how great my drawing skills were they loaned me out to the each contract company’s offices around the U.S. and I was pulled away frequently from my regular jobs that I was originally hired to do.
As I mentioned previously, my first StartUp company of approximately one dozen “Mitek Systems” eventually renamed “OpenConnect Systems” in order to have a unique U.S. wide corporate name.
Note: Details for this employment position are listed in Work History Section of Resume
OpenConnect Systems (formerly Mitek Systems) is detailed in this resume with heading below.
I’m not a quitter, so when I am part of a StartUp venture, I am there to make the company a huge success.
I love StartUps because there’s something very fulfilling and satisfying about starting out with just 3 or 4 partners and building a company from the ground up. I have two of my own Media Techniques, Inc. and PrimeFilmVentures.com. The first one Media Techniques was used strictly for corp-to-corp contracts, and the second one Prime Film Ventures, Inc. runs itself now.

(Note: OpenConnect Systems, formerly Mitek Systems was a startup company, a 10-year assignment) Full-Time - Senior Technical Writer, Quality Tester, and DBA.
When I joined my first StartUp Mitek Systems (a.k.a. Prime Film Ventures, Inc.) I was working as an Engineering Technician I was working at an Aerospace Company named Electro Space Systems in Richardson, TX working as an Engineering Tech designing interface boards to connect the company’s Top Secret (TS/SCI) product, a crypto enabled PBX Telephone System nicknamed the “Red Switch.”
(SEE THE SECTION BELOW TITLED, “TOP SECRET (TS/SCI) CLEARANCES - U.S. AIR FORCE and ELECTROSPACE SYSTEMS“
The red switch in a PBX telephone system is a component that allows for the integration of both secure
and nonsecure networks. It is part of the Switching Subsystem within the Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN), which is a dedicated telephone network providing global secure communication services for the United States Armed Forces.
OpenConnect Systems prided itself by running on every computer system that could run on a TCP/IP network including some platforms that were interfaced with customers’ platforms on TCP/IP networks via Okenone’s Gateways for IBM Mainframe and Mid-Range Computers
Because OpenConnect’s products were interfaced with every operating system platform available including IBM Mainframe and Midrange and VAX/VMS and others, I gained a great deal of experience on working within each of these operating systems for development and documentation purposes. When I and other new people joined Open Systems they paid for us to have TWO WEEKS of UNIX, Linux, and x86 Administration Training and TWO WEEKS of C and C++ Programming raining
One of my many assignments was to work closely with one of OpenConnect’s Assembly Language Programmers to document Application Interface (API) programs, embedded assembly code for Linux and the code for its application operating instructions for OpenConnect customers integrating their products with ours. After working with the assembly language programmer, I learned to write assembly and many high-level programming languages. I also became confident in coding using several scripting languages that are “bult into” UNIX, such as sed, awk, bash plus off the shelf scripting/high-level languages like Python and Pearl. I used these scripting languages to simplify and automate my own areas of expertise.
While working on a contract-to-hire Technical Writing position with XPEDITE in Tinton Falls, New Jersey,
my eventual full-time position would include me joining the company’s 30-plus UNIX Administrators plus my Technical Writing projects as well. One of my small coding projects was to add a phone directory to their PBX system. So, I quickly learned how to program with JavaScript and utilized the PBX’s API and client-side JavaScript to access, retrieve, and display employees directory contact information.
I was attending and enrolled in Computer Science courses at University of Texas (UTD) in Plano Texas at the time and one of my first programs at the school was to write a highly difficult program nicknamed “The Knight’s Travel” which consisted of moving a knight around on the chess board and keeping track of each square that it landed on and never landing on a square that the knight had touched until all squares had been touched and a report of the paths it had taken including using regressive subroutines when the knight ended in a dead end and had to back up and try different paths. I used a “UNIX debugging program” that was native to the UNIX environment.
I told one of the programmers, who just happened to be the son of the founder of Mitek Systems (my first StartUp company) and he told me that none of the programmers there knew how to use the debugger. When he found out I had been using it successfully to write my “Knight’s Travel” program he asked me to train the programmers on its use.
Below are several samples of previous contracts that illustrate my working and mid-level management experience in Technical Writing, Instructional Design, Training Automation, and Platform Training, Business Analyst, Process Analysis and Re-Engineering, and Content Specifications Management skills from conception through product/service testing and release.
The link below illustrates how I became a highly-skilled Business Analyst and became recognized as an expert in Specifications design and development, and managing and tracking all of the many levels of specifications from conception to testing and product release.

= = = = = Santander Consumer USA; Dallas, TX = = = = = (1-Year & 4-months) 06/25/2013 to 10/03/2014
At Santander Consumer USA in downtown Dallas, TX (in my spare time outside of my technical writing duties and quality assurance and process analysis duties) I developed a training course on Product and Program Development in an AGILE DELOPMENT ENVIRONMENT. See link below to a sample Student Guide from that course: https://tinyurl.com/yc6futdr
I have a strong base in the field of training and curriculum development when I was hired years ago by an aggressive business computer manufacturing company “Four-Phase” (line item 2 above) based in the San Jose, CA area that opened a training facility in the Dallas suburb of Las Colinas. They wanted a training facility that was centrally located, because they had the need for a large nation-wide group field engineers to support their products.
I lived in Dallas at the time and I was hired by Four Phase went to work along with a group of 30-plus trainers ant instructional designers whose purpose was to develop Field Engineering Training Courses for their business computer products and associated peripheral equipment. I specialized in printers, and while employed with the company, I designed training courses and delivered the training for each type of printer to classes of 16 students at a time who worked remotely for Four Phase at different cities around the U.S. for several printers that were popular with the company’s client corporations. Your employment opportunity sounds exactly like many other contracts I have worked on over the years.
These Field Engineers would return several times to take courses on different types of equipment and housed in a local hotel and provided with Four-Phase Lease Vehicles during their stay. I became a favorite instructor with some of my returning students, and was proud on the last day of one of their courses, my student presented me an award that they called “The Good Humor Instructor of the Year” award which was a photo of a “Good Humor Ice Cream Truck with a Ribbon attached.
The management of the Four Phase Training Facility in Las Colinas had recently hired a new group of curriculum developers/trainers (with me included), and they wanted the new trainers to all be well-versed in Training Development and Delivery methods so they set aside a couple of weeks for a “Train the Trainer” internal seminar. One Monday morning when the Trainers arrived at work, we all found a Training Package for Robert Mayer’s Training Kit on the desks in our individual offices and that training kit became our curriculum for our training that we spent
