WORK EXPERIENCE
Principal Software Engineer RxSight Inc., Aliso Viejo, CA 01/2016 – 10/2026 Digital Health Pipelines and Web Application
• Built high-throughput data pipelines using the Azure SDK and Microsoft Graph API to automate ingestion, processing, and management of hundreds of terabytes of data.
• Optimized processing speeds on Ubuntu Linux, reducing latency and resource bottlenecks for massive datasets.
• Led prototyping and architecture design using Python and the C# Azure SDK, improving system reliability and scalability.
• Developed applications to process patient data, treatment records, and medical device telemetry from the pipelines.
• Managed data infrastructure in MongoDB, powering web-based digital health applications and downstream RxSight AI models.
Compact Light Delivery Device
• High-Speed Projection Engine: Developed a C++/QML application with a custom wrapper library for an FTDI high-speed USB bridge chip, enabling real-time image streaming from the Jetson TX2 to a Texas Instruments DLP Digital Micromirror Device (DMD).
• Vision Subsystem: Integrated and configured AND9385/D UV and IR cameras, implementing real-time video playback and video feed for the eye-tracking modules.
• Hardware Integration and Safety: Developed UPS control software to protect treatment and system reliability during power fluctuations.
• Audio Subsystem: Configured the Linux ALSA subsystem on Ubuntu and integrated audio features into the LDD application.
• Firmware Communication Protocol: Helped define the firmware command protocol and used the Qt CAN Bus module for communication between the application and the Jetson TX2 board. Standard Light Delivery Device
• Legacy Modernization and Toolchain Migration: Migrated the core C++/C#/.NET Framework application from Visual Studio 2010 to the latest Visual Studio and VS Code, adopting modern C++ standards and current .NET frameworks.
• UI Redesign: Redesigned the user interface for a modern, streamlined clinical workflow.
• FDA Cybersecurity Compliance: Implemented OpenSSL 256-bit AES encryption with PBKDF2 (SHA- 512) key derivation to protect confidential patient and device data in compliance with FDA cybersecurity standards.
Refractometer
• Cross-Platform UI Development: Built a responsive user interface using PyQt and QML to improve clinical workflow and operator usability during diagnostic scans.
• Hardware Software Integration: Implemented serial communication protocols to synchronize the application with internal hardware components and sensors.
• Cloud Data Pipeline: Developed secure data transfer to send patient diagnostic results and system logs to Azure cloud servers for storage and remote analytics. Security Gateway Device
• Built a secure IoT gateway on an ESP32 development board to isolate medical devices from direct internet exposure and meet cybersecurity requirements.
• Defined and implemented custom communication protocols for secure data exchange between the gateway and connected hardware.
• Developed a C#/.NET Windows Service to periodically poll Light Delivery Device data and stream it to the gateway via serial port (UART/RS-232).
Senior Engineer Qualcomm Technologies Inc., San Diego, CA 11/2012 – 11/2015
• Provided rapid troubleshooting and critical support for automation runtime testing, earning QualStart Ruby and Diamond awards.
• Ported the core automation framework from Perl 5.6 to 5.18, refactoring frontend Perl and backend C++ to meet modern compilation standards.
• Developed core components (Automation Phone System, Crash Monitor) with modem software teams, delivering projects on schedule.
• Led developer forums and design presentations on phone modem testing, C++, and scripting best practices. EDUCATION
