I taught Reading/Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies to Kindergarten students for 13 years, to Seventh and Eighth grade students for two years. For four years I worked as the Reading Intervention Specialist in Learning Center at the American Creativity Academy in Kuwait. Prior to that I taught grade 1and during school year 2020-2021, I taught grade 1. I am knowledgeable about concept-based instruction, passionate about teaching, and helping new teachers grow and be successful.

Founded in 1997, the American Creativity Academy is a private school in Kuwait that delivers a standards-based American curriculum. I provided Tier 3 balanced-literacy interventions to small groups, using Grade 4 and Grade 5 Curriculum Links from Atlas to incorporate and scaffold targeted skills. From beginning to end of year, 95% of students demonstrated above-average growth on the MAP test. Grade 1 students achieved the highest DIBELS scores, and my class had the most students qualify for enrichment.

08/2014-06/04/2015 Spence Elementary, Interventionist (Aldine ISD) Delivered reading and math interventions to students performing below grade level, with 90% demonstrating growth in both subjects.

I Coached seven gifted and talented students for an academic competition and mentored two new teachers at the school.

There are approximately 1000 students enrolled in this school, it is comprised of 5 different nationalities. Sixty- eight per cent of the students are English Language Learners. As the Chairperson of the Reading Committee, my team and I implemented a school-wide buddy reading program. Every Friday the third and fourth grade students read to struggling readers in kindergarten through second grade. 08/2013- 6/2014 ESL/Regular Kindergarten Teacher-Reece Academy Public School, USA At the end of the school year 95% of my students passed their entire district benchmark test. One hundred percent of English Language Learners were reading on or above grade-level. One hundred percent of the students were promoted to the first grade.
