Resume:

Dear Sir or Ma’am,

I am a multidisciplinary systems engineer with 33 years of experience architecting complex electromechanical systems for aerospace, defense, robotics, and advanced technology applications. By combining lateral innovation with disciplined systems thinking, I develop practical, scalable solutions to challenging engineering problems.

Throughout my career, I have focused on developing innovative, manufacturable, and scalable engineering solutions that balance performance, reliability, cost, and production efficiency while addressing the needs of both emerging technologies and mission-critical systems using CREO MCAD for 33 years. Wire & Cable Harness Design

• Creates 3D wire & cable harness routes constrained by subassembly & assembly routing areas.

• Create laminated busbars for high power distribution.

• Select Jacket materials based on intended environment, land, sea, air, LEO, MEO & GEO orbits with the possibility of solar radiation & atomic oxygen that adhere to the specific specification for environments.

• Examine Bend Radius Requirements vs wire & cable strand count which limits bend radii & cold working.

• Optimizing Wire & Cable Routing, bundled for tight spaces parallel routing is space avails for serviceability & maintainability.

• Examine "other" wire & cable harnesses for DFX & implement when feasible.

• MBD, Model Based Definition.

• Create Drawings, wire net lists / schematics, connector pin designation drawings when MBD is not required. Use acceptable callouts for each wire color & current capacity / length when necessary.

• Generate control diagrams which detail cable & wire strand counts, jacket material callouts, MIL-STD, NASA designations.

• Develop Bills Of Materials that work within the framework of ERP system for production coordination.

• For RF & Microwave signals, and data links; understands grounding and shielding principles in regards to EMC radiated & conducted.

• Interface and coordinate between multidisciplinary team members, engineering, program management, production & quality for expected documentation.

• Develop static straight pull tests for minimum acceptability & minimum for destruction.

• On cables that are required to be flexible or cross a hinged mechanism, number of flexures at a given rate to examine micro milliohms over the flexure test for life testing.

• Analyze the needs of the environment for each wire & cable harness for quality & reliability in harsh & or battle conditions.

• Analyze harnesses with applicable quality and reliability standards over the entire voltage range of each wire & cable.

• DFW, Design for weight, is one of the most overlooked design attributes. New Graphene Extruded wires which have much higher current capacity are being developed.

• DFE, Design for Environment. This attribute is significant when internal to satellites where the structure is sealed where Atomic Oxygen is not present.

• In the Case of extreme external LEO environment cable routing, Aluminum conduits are used with material such as XL-ETFE, ePTFE & Space Qualified Silicons

• Cable Routing must be considered as one of the highest priorities as weight is an area which can cost more than the cost per kilogram to put into space which is $5,000 - $7,000 per kg. The takeaway is that lower weight saves time in placing sometimes 10 of thousands of satellites into LEO orbit. This is why I am looking for satellite materials like superwood from a company called InventWood which decreases the satellite structural weight by 4 times & still provide the structural strength of Aluminum 7055-Sc. • Considering XL-Fiber optics cable materials instead of copper for signals, RF

& Microwave signal. XL-Fiber optic cables offer a significant weight savings which yields back time whose value is more significant that money.

• Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620A or NASA-STD-8739.4. ruggedized cabling standards governing space launch vehicles, satellites in LEO, MEO, GEO other orbits.
