Senior Data Center Lead Tech 9/2014-11/2016
I was given approx. 18 cells to move with 3-5 days to migrate each cell. I had to map out the current environment and use it to create a new layout for the new location. I managed a team of 3 guys, cut down from the proposed 5 guys. And trained them along the way to be a better technician and a team player. I was not originally the lead to start the project but within 2 weeks I was given the reins to run it the way I see fit. Each cell contained approx. 36 Servers and switches. Each cell required; Origin mapping, new location landscape design and new mapping for cables. I used current cables or used new cables if needed. I labeled the cables for easy tracing, cabled each rack very clean to provide good airflow. I took care of all of the storage arrays setups. I did the cabling for Net-Apps systems, EMC Data Domains, and a little bit of HPs 3Par. I consulted with SAPs own IT Network staff and gave them recommendations from my past experiences. At the projects end, I received kudos from all the engineers and Network teams on my performance.
Planned and coordinated a data center project while training and directing a team of 4 technical professionals. Allocated resources and delegated duties to staff to ensure deliverables. Worked closely with Cisco engineers to assess and modify layouts, switch connections, and port assignments. Led the team in racking approximately 150 servers and switches, maintaining cable up, and testing all network connectivity.
Mentored and supervised a small team to assist with the preparation for an 18-month data center projects. Oversaw the first phase of pulling de-commissioned servers of the center and maintaining active data sheets. Closing in on the final months of this project and I have done line mapping in excel and also visual mappings of a Inter-Connections to each and every server (approx. 1750 servers. 12 EMC racks, 6 NetApp racks)
Removed 50+ current IP KVM switches as well as all cabling and installed and configured 25 new switches. Re-cabled with new color-coded cables and compiled a network map of the IP KVM.
Coordinate a 4-month, 600 system project and efficiently migrate cells within specified timelines. Mapped out environments, created new layouts, and managed a team of 3 staff to meet performance objectives.

On a side note:
I have been around solar DC voltage and creating generators that are charged up by solar. I have worked with DC voltages up to 84v using Lead Acid batteries or Lithium Ion, and Lithium Polymer. I have worked with 110v and 220v generators that are charged by the sum.
I have worked at an Air Condition company where I installed AC /Air handlers and Heat pumps. Installed Evaporative Coolers (swamp Coolers) – 2 years experience
