Oversee Nine Ford Plants for the Packaging and Container Management Program. Manage the shipping and receiving of Ford owned and Supplier owned returnable containers via distribution centers, LTL, milk run and truck load direct.
Monitored / Analyzed Ford Motor Company’s premium Freight spend using proven methods to reduce yearly spend by 20% each year. Monitor / Analyzed supply base shipping methods to ensure they adhere to packaging guidelines and can meet shipping requirements. Created a new Packaging Engineering Division at Ford Motor Company. This new division was created and employs fifteen people to work with Ford plants and the entire supply base to effectively create and provide containers and racks for suppliers and Ford Plants
Created a recovery and redistribution program of containers from balanced out programs. Up until the creation of this program, containers and racks of balanced programs were being disposed.
This program was responsible for a cost safe / cost avoidance of over $10M from 2015 thru 2021 and continues today.
Traveled extensively throughout North America in 2008 / 2009 On special assignment for Ford Motor Company. I traveled throughout North America to distressed suppliers to remove / recover Ford assets. Tooling, Finished goods, WIP, Raw materials, Containers and racks. Rail Logistics Manager Over saw all inbound and rack return rail transportation. Worked with all Ford plants and rail companies to ensure timely deliveries.
