Nov 2013-Present, Quality Manager - Summit Casing

Implement ISO 9000/9001 Quality System (includes all procedures, undocumented processes, forms and Quality

Manual) and obtain registration to API Spec Q1/ISO 9000 by June 2014.

Dec 2010-May 2013, Senior Quality Engineer - Operations Excellence Supplier Quality, Lockheed Martin

After working 1 year as a contractor, accepted full time position. Duties include leading projects and mentoring staff

on Variation Management methodology and application. Six Sigma Lean projects such as Eaton Hydraulics

Off-load to 13 sub-tier suppliers. Ensure that all F-35 contractual requirements are flowed down properly and

work with 13 Lockheed field engineers at each sub-tier. Develop A-3 methodology for problem solving,

which includes FMEA, variation management (Cpk data) and root cause corrective action. Attend and report

on Monthly Operating Review on behalf of Air Vehicle and Mission Systems and address management

concerns. Conduct audits at designated suppliers. Support engineering and design departments to address

issues that arise with supply base. Act as liaison between Leads and Management on weekly staff meetings.

Received two SPOT Awards for performance.

Jan 2010-Dec 2010, Quality Engineer, Verify Inc-Lockheed Martin Fort Worth contract

Support Lockheed Supplier Quality Management SCS Quality Engineering Leads monitoring and developing supply

base (1400+ approved suppliers). Work within Lockheed Martin (LM Aero) systems such ICA, SCA,

OATHUD and Unity website to create weekly reports and monitor outside SQE activities. Report to

management on SQE and assigned supply base performance. Support monthly MOR and weekly Integrator

web meeting on behalf of SCS QE Leads. Support additional Global Supply Chain activities such as Supplier

Collaboration events and SQAR/QAR reduction initiatives. Develop Distributor Surveillance Survey (SSP).

Support Airframe and Air Vehicle and Mission Success groups on transitioning suppliers.

Oct 2006 to Sept 2009, Plant Quality Manager, Parker Hannifin Corp-Stratoflex Division

Manage Quality Department for aerospace manufacturing facility, including quality engineering, inspection, Delegated

Supplier Quality Representatives (DSQR), outside testing, calibration lab, returned material investigation, and

process engineering (processes included Machining [Steel, Titanium, Aluminum], Welding, Brazing, Chemical

Processes, Assembly and Qualification and Production Test)for manifold, fixture and metal braid hose fuel

system lines. Maintain all NADCAP special process and FAA regulatory requirements. Implemented Hamilton

Sundstrand certified Quality Clinic. Material Review Board chairperson. Stratoflex Corporate Compliance

representative. Manage AS9100 registration. Develop and mentor staff of nine Quality Engineers, two

Inspection Supervisors and thirty-two Inspectors. Developed Quality portion of Parker’s Lean Product

Development (design through delivery) including APQP, FMEAs, PPAP and Toyota A3 approach to advanced

corrective action.

Sep 2005 to Oct 2006, Quality Manager, Hampson Aerospace – Grand Prairie, Tx

Implement AS9100 system in new production facility for Eclipse 500 empennage. Assist with transfer of prototype

production in Wigan, England to Grand Prairie, Texas. Manage all quality engineering and inspection activities during

transfer of production and prototype phase. Support customer (Eclipse) in all ODAR and FAA conformity requirements

until FAA Type Certification obtained. Process Control events and procedure/document control for Machining, Assembly,

Paint and Testing operations.

Sep 2003 to Sep 2005, Quality Systems Consultant, Alcoa

Contracted with Alcoa for three projects (Medina, OH, Semi Valley, CA and Denison, TX). The first project was to

prepare automotive plant (Huck Fasteners, Medina, OH) for TS16949 registration and Ford Q1 recovery plan. This

included a gap analysis on the current quality system, manage timeline and present progress, assign and monitor projects

with management staff to ensure compliance, and conduct internal assessments / audits. Processes included Machining,

Finishing and Testing. Once completed, transfer to Semi Valley plant to create a quality and supplier development system

and develop maintenance manuals for start-up division (aerospace conversion of Boeing 757-200 to cargo aircraft) in

preparation for FAA certification and AS9100 registration. Final project included working with Home Exteriors

manufacturing plant on internal auditing systems and combining all Alcoa internal auditing functions in one system

(Quality, EHS and Financial).

July 2001 to July 2003, Director of Quality, Tingstol Printed Circuit Boards – Chicago, IL

Maintain QS9000 and ISO 9002 registration and direct all quality related activities including first pass yield increase,

scrap reduction, continuous improvement and customer reject resolution. Prepare company for TS 16949 registration and

MIL-PRF-55110 qualification. Conduct all customer quality visits and accompany sales on all customer site visits.

Conduct internal training on IPC standards for inspection. Assist with outsourcing of manufacturing of high volume, low

margin boards to Asia. Approve and monitor supply base.

Jun 1999 to June 2001, Quality Manager, Park Electronics (Nelco, AZ)

As the sole engineer in the Tempe manufacturing plant, responsibilities include maintaining ISO 9001 registration,

implementing SPC program, and conducting daily quality / process improvement status meetings at customer sites

(Sanmina). Also responsible for coordinating customer quality visits; reviewing customer specifications, industry

specifications for printed circuit board (pcb) laminates and product improvement capabilities; corrective and preventive

action; and reporting quality department activity to management via weekly staff presentations. Processes included resin

and laminate production, autoclave, finishing and chemical testing.

Feb 1992 to Jun 1999, Corporate Quality Manager, Avnet (Allied Electronics)

Responsibilities included overseeing and managing the Allied quality department and ISO 9002 registration,

implementing SPC, and conducting quality process improvement initiatives. Additional responsibilities

included training 88 US and Canadian branches on Avnet Total Quality Management System, monthly

Management Review. After completing the application process and hosting a site visit, Avnet-Allied became a

Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award finalist and a Fed Ex Best Practices finalist.
