Re: CPR / BLS Instructor Opportunity

Dear CPR Columbus Hiring Team

I am applying for your instructor opportunity because the work sits directly at the intersection of my experience: CPR/BLS instruction, emergency-response training, and hands-on healthcare support. I am a current American Heart Association BLS Instructor, and I also bring volunteer fire service, fire academy training, completed EMT coursework with emergency-department clinical exposure, home health aide experience, and non-emergency medical transport experience

My background gives me something I believe matters in a CPR classroom: I do not see the skills as abstract steps on a checklist. My fire and EMT training taught me to think in terms of scene safety, assessment, communication, teamwork, and action under pressure. My HHA and patient-transport experience taught me the other side of emergency care — how to communicate with people who are scared, vulnerable, uncomfortable, or depending on you to remain calm. Those experiences shape the way I teach

As an AHA instructor, I am comfortable demonstrating skills, coaching hands-on practice, answering questions, maintaining class and certification documentation, and creating a learning environment where students can build confidence without losing respect for the seriousness of the material. My years in high-volume technical support at Google also strengthened my ability to explain complex information clearly, adjust to different learners, manage multiple systems, and stay organized.

I also want to be transparent about the qualifications listed in your posting. My clinical pathway is fire/EMT and healthcare-support based; I am not representing myself as an RN, NP, CRNA, APRN, or paramedic. I am applying because I already hold AHA instructor credentials and have relevant emergency-response and patient-care training that may fit your BLS/CPR instructional needs. If you are open to considering an instructor with that background, I would welcome the opportunity to discuss where I could contribute to your team.

Thank you for your consideration. I would be glad to speak with you about my AHA instructor experience, fire academy and EMT training, and the perspective I bring from both emergency-response and patient-support environments.

Sincerely,

Tammy Johnson
