Hyderabad, India 955-***-**** *********************@*****.*** linkedin.com/in/vinay-reddy-devireddy
Summary
DevOps Engineer with 4+ years running production infrastructure on bare metal and cloud. Led an AWS-to-OVH bare-metal migration that cut infrastructure spend 60%, from $2,000 to $800 per month, after evaluating GCP with Terraform and finding no cost advantage. Designs and operates a 7-server production fleet running Kubernetes, MySQL replication, Redis Cluster, and SolrCloud with ZooKeeper, and load-tested a streaming platform to 100K concurrent streams. Previously operated 200+ node HPC clusters across four sites. Strong on root-cause debugging of live production failures and on automating manual operations away. Work Experience
Videogate Technologies Pvt Ltd — DevOps Engineer Nov 2023 – Present
• Led migration of 5 environments from AWS to OVH bare metal, cutting infrastructure spend 60% from $2,000 to
$800 per month, a saving of roughly $14,000 annually.
• Evaluated GCP as the alternative migration target using Terraform-provisioned test environments; cost analysis showed no meaningful advantage over AWS, which drove the decision to move to OVH bare metal.
• Designed and operate a 7-server bare-metal fleet spanning development, QC, pre-pilot, pilot, and production, with 5 production servers running MySQL master-replica, Redis Cluster, SolrCloud with ZooKeeper, and redun- dant Spring Boot and web tiers; automated provisioning across the fleet with Ansible in a master-agent architec- ture for repeatable, consistent setup.
• Built bare-metal Kubernetes clusters (kubeadm) for development and QC, each running 7 services behind Nginx Ingress alongside cert-manager and a Prometheus and Grafana monitoring stack.
• Built Jenkins CI/CD pipelines with gating matched to each environment: automated builds on Bitbucket push and pull request for development and QC, and manual promotion through git tags and release branches for pilot and production, preventing premature releases from reaching live environments.
• Architected a secure virtualized development environment (VirtualBox, LDAP authentication, OpenVPN, Squid proxy) enforcing strict source-code access control; scaled it from 10 to 30+ developers.
• Resolved a critical routing conflict between OpenVPN and Docker through network isolation, restoring blocked developer workflows without weakening VPN security.
• Tuned MySQL master-replica replication and Redis Cluster for high-concurrency workloads, and enabled Redis persistence across all environments to eliminate cache loss on restart.
• Hardened production infrastructure through server hardening, SSL/TLS, Fail2Ban, and recurring vulnerability scanning (Nmap, Nikto, Lynis) with remediation.
Key Project — Home Cinema Plus (Feb 2026 – Present): on-demand video streaming platform serving movies, series, and short-form content to the African market.
• Load-tested the platform to 100K concurrent streams on production-equivalent infrastructure, sustaining an 80% cache hit ratio across a mix of newly ingested and cached content.
• Diagnosed and eliminated chronic buffering and stream degradation, tracing root causes to origin throughput limits, cache misses, and misconfigured upstream timeouts.
• Implemented multi-tier caching with OpenResty at the proxy layer for video segments and thumbnails, reducing origin load and improving time-to-first-frame.
• Cut bandwidth usage and latency with an Nginx caching layer over OVH S3-backed object storage.
• Stood up the production environment from scratch: UFW, SSL/TLS termination, service isolation, and secrets management via HashiCorp Vault.
• Deployed a Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and Promtail observability stack for real-time stream-health monitoring and proactive incident detection.
• Automated provisioning of Spring Boot services, Redis Cluster, and Solr with ZooKeeper via Ansible playbooks, and configured Nginx load balancing with tuned health checks. Key Project — Toqqer (Dec 2023 – Present): OTT streaming platform with media sharing and chat; ran as the production platform until Home Cinema Plus took over production, and now serves as the pilot environment.
• Independently designed and operated the bare-metal infrastructure supporting streaming, chat, and media server workloads throughout its production lifetime.
• Repurposed the platform as the pilot environment during the Home Cinema Plus rollout, running dedicated MySQL and Redis instances isolated from the production data tiers. Concept Information Technologies (I) Pvt. Ltd. — HPC Engineer Oct 2021 – Mar 2023
• Operated High-Performance Computing clusters across 4 independent sites totalling 203 compute nodes (100 compute plus 3 master at the primary site, 75, 20, and 8 at the remaining three), each site with dedicated stor- age, running MATLAB and ANSYS simulation workloads.
• Managed compute node lifecycle end to end across all sites: OS provisioning, hardware replacement, and firmware and software upgrades.
• Administered MPI and PBS job schedulers for parallel workload execution and batch job management.
• Diagnosed hardware, OS, and application-level faults to maintain cluster availability and utilisation; maintained HA services, cluster monitoring, and Integrated Management Modules (IMM) fleet-wide. Technical Skills
