CURRENT JOB PROFILE:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
In-service Static Equipment & Piping: -
• Review previous inspection history, job packs, drawings, specifications, inspection plans and repair plans prior to inspection of equipment.
• Carry out inspection of equipment in accordance with the specified plans and inspection procedures.
• Assess equipment condition and report with repair recommendation based on code and procedural requirements.
• Coordinate with the NDT coordinator and NDT technicians to get the NDT done.
• Coordinate with coating inspector, coating contractor to get the coating done as per plan and recommendation.
• Review the NDT reports, findings, and field verify as necessary. Page 3 of 7
• Retirement thickness calculation, corrosion rate calculation, remaining service life calculation for process piping systems and advising for any repairs/replacement/re-rating requirements.
• Prepare final closure report for the submission with client.
• Inspection, quality control, quality assurance documentation, monitoring, and controlling all the activities related to all NDTs and execution of project and maintenance services/ shutdowns as per the codes, standards and quality parameters stipulated in the contracts.
• Activities including pre inspection, post inspection, pressure test and box up.
• Co-ordination with process and reliability team for every stage of inspection.
• Following the recommendations of client after every stage of inspection.
• Co-ordination for Heat Exchanger Tube inspection & Equipment with, methods like WFMT, ECT, MFL, RFET, IRIS, Borescope, Acoustic eye test & video camera test.
• Plugging of exchanger tubes which below than the acceptance criteria.
• Arranging calibration certificates for PSV's and pressure gauges.
• Co-ordination for PWHT and Stress relieving activities.
• Review of all applicable documents such as scope work, Drawings, Quality Plan, Procedures, and Codes & Standard.
Inspection Activities: -
● Performing inspections for the Incoming Raw Material like Valves, Process Piping, Structural, Plates, Rotary and Static Equipment’s, Welding Consumables etc.,
● Inspecting raw materials to the relevant certification. Review of material certificates and issuing comments/acceptance notes.
● Review documents like ITP (Inspection Test Plan), MRB (Manufacturer Record Book), Quality Assurance, ISO 9001:2015, WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications), Non-Destructive Testing Procedures, painting procedures, Data Sheet, Relevant drawings etc.,
● Review of material certificates and QA, QC documents for various ongoing projects and MTC submission to End-user.
● Coordinating with auditor and auditees for ISO audit.
● Preparing and monitoring the ISO related documents and procedures.
● Performing routine surveillance inspections on the activities at material yard.
● Issuance and close out of Non-conformance report.
● Retaining relationships with Process to ensure the safe operation with Quality.
● Monitored all aspects of Quality Control relative to standards during the construction to ensure adherence to the company’s’ technical requirements and applicable codes.
● Inspection of Pipes, Pipe fittings, Flanges, Bolts, Gaskets, Plates, and consumables
● Prepared, Inspected and Monitored weld procedures (WPS, PQR) and welder qualification testing WQT.
● Reviewed the Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID’s), Piping drawings and specifications.
● Ensuring Fit-up & welding of Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, weld overlay and Alloys are performed as per the procedure and by qualified welders.
● Performed visual and dimensional inspections of welded steel structures, pressure vessels, on- plot/off-plot piping etc.
● Performed Dimensional check and correct method of cutting / beveling, edge preparation, fit up and alignment as per standards prior to welding.
● Monitored the weld preparation and welding process and compilation of vendor weld records.
● Witness and release hydrostatic test, pneumatic test for the completed pipelines and reviewed the final piping documentation packages.
● Witnessed alignment, orientation, and dimensions of installed piping as per isometric drawings. Page 4 of 7
● Provided early warning of potential quality problems and ensured non-conformances are identified, tracked, and closed.
● Coordination of NDT activities RT, PT, MPT, WFMT, UT, PMI, PWHT, Hardness etc.
● Preparation of all Inspection related documents for tie in permit from refinery authority.
● Issue Inspection Release after ensuring compliance to P.O. and specifications and codes. QA/QC Activities: -
● Maintain & implement Project Quality Plans, Quality Strategies, and Objectives
● Provide support to Lead/Manager for quality estimates for QA / QC project deliverables and inspection of procurement packages.
● Ensure the maintenance, documentation, and deployment of the project management system.
● Plan and participate in external / internal projects and vendor’s/ suppliers audits.
● Conduct site quality leadership surveillance visits, as required.
● Support Manager QA/QC for corrective actions by approving new actions and verifying action closure, if required
● Capture client feedback and monitor resulting improvement actions.
● Ensure the closure of Quality requirements for project closeout.
● Review and provide input into technical bid evaluations.
● Participation in the KOM & PIM on post orders
● Review and approve necessary construction contractors, vendors, and suppliers’ documentation including ITPs and procedures, as required.
● Control all Quality documentation during & upon completion of the Project.
● Support in reviewing project technical queries and specification deviation requests.
● Assist Lead/Manager QA/QC for evaluation of materials suppliers, manufacturers, fabricators, and NDE providers.
● Establish appropriate call-off arrangements with third party inspection agencies.
● Manage and raise vendors’ inspection requests and maintain inspection assignment register.
● Prepare inspection packages for inspectors.
● Assign competent, qualified, and appropriately experienced inspectors to inspection assignments.
● Coordinate vendor/suppliers’ product/material inspection activities.
● Report non-conformances identified by inspectors.
● Report inspection queries, deficiencies & punch list items
● Facilitate the recall, quarantine, and replacement of defective products/materials.
● Support the review of vendor mechanical catalogs & manufacturing records books as required.
● Ensure upload of inspection reports and releases to document management system

● Review and approve third party inspection invoices.
