Established the exclusive U.S. Agency office for P.R.C. based extruder. My primary duties included sales of 5000/6000 alloys and customer service to major U.S. customers. I was the Primary Customer Service contact for all U.S. accounts. Additionally, I managed the Sales team in the U.S., Canada, S. E. Asia, Europe, China, Singapore, Australia. Reason for leaving: The mill could only provide me with 1000 mt/mo which was insufficient to support our sales.
Jun 1973-Jan 2010 – Various Sales/Distribution Management positions – Southern Extrusions, Magnolia Ar., Atlanta Ga, Howmet Corp Landover Md, Jacksonville Fla, Alcoa Plano Tx.
1973-1977 C.S. Manager. Moved to Tucker Ga to open a distribution center for aluminum/glass shower doors and commercial storefront metal. My duties included the start up, S.E. customer service, and shipping (yes I can operate a fork lift).
1977-1980 Service Center Manager. Moved to Landover Md. To open a distribution center for aluminum/glass shower doors and storefront metal. My duties included site selection, the start up, management of sales and staff.
1980-1983 Territory Sales. Moved to Jacksonville Fl. The join field sales team responsible for selling commercial extrusions in the State of Florida. Travel requirements 100%.
1983-1987 Bath Enclosure Manager. Moved to Magnolia Ar to be responsible for Distribution, Sales, and Product Development of the largest and most profitable profit group of the mill. In Distribution, I was responsible for the current S.C. in Dallas and Atlanta and opened, staffed, and managed new Service Centers in Tampa, Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. I hired sales people for each location and annual sales grew from 22 million U.S.D. to 100 million U.S.D. at a 45% GPM. Travel requirement 30/70o.
1987-1995 Regional Sales Manager/International Manager, Western U.S. and Asia. Moved to Dallas Tx for easier travel connections and a better work/life balance. My duties included managing the Sales team for the Western U.S. and liaison with Alcoa International to develop greenfield extrusion facilities in Mexico and P.R.C. Travel requirement 70/30o
1995-2000 New Product Development and Business Manager. Moved back to Magnolia Ar to develop a product line for Big Box Home Center. Magnolia had purchased a small extrusion facility in Fairburn Ga and needed a product line for that mill. I developed the new product and produced sales collateral and personally landed 300 Home Depot stores.
Reason for leaving: Retired to seek other adventures. Moved back to Dallas Tx
Jan 1964-Jan 1973 – Firestone Coated Fabrics Company, Magnolia, AR
Quality Control Supervisor. Reported to Factory Q.C. Manager. Our factory manufactured rubberized fuel tanks for use in civilian and military aircraft. My duties included maintaining strict government standards and best practices. Additionally I supervised Third Shift Quality Control Inspectors plant wide.
Project Engineer. My assignment was to write specifications and develop manufacturing standards for F4 Phantom, C-130 Hercules, and Boeing 747 fuel cell production. I assisted in startup production and traveled to St Louis, Atlanta, and Seattle for First Article inspections and installation into the aircraft.
Reason for leaving: - Divorced and chose to move from a small town to a bigger city to resume my career.
