Development Officer, Children’s Hunger Fund, Los Angeles, CA

As a Development Officer, I have focused on developing strategy for engaging major donors while bringing consistent attention to an existing prospect list that has yet to be cultivated. My role includes engaging major donors, hosting donor events, visiting and traveling to areas of the country with a high donor concentration for CHF in addition to engaging foundations aligned with CHF’s mission.

April 2022 – August 2025

Director, Church Engagement, Focus on the Family, Colorado Springs, CO

As Director of Church Engagement, I focus on three objectives: caring for the person/family of the pastor, growing the pastoral audience, and resourcing pastors for their ministry. This role involved overseeing the pastoral brand of Focus on the Family entitled The Focused Pastor. It included the strategy and development of written and video content, hosting an annual pastoral conference, leveraging content/resources created by Focus on the Family for pastoral families, new name capture, representing The Focused Pastor brand as spokesperson and YouTube host, along with developing/executing marketing plans for products, initiatives, and events.

February 2017 – June 2022

Director, Planned Giving and Mid-Range Fundraising, Focus on the Family, Colorado Springs, CO

In this role, I helped to educate donors to focus on unique ways of tax-efficient giving, including estate giving and giving from non-cash assets. Additionally, I managed a team of mid-range fundraisers who made outbound calls to donors, submitting proposals and requests for funding regarding ministry initiatives. I was responsible for over $12 million of fundraising revenue and the marketing related to raising these funds. Additionally, this role involved developing fundraising goals, training/coaching the fundraising team, and developing/executing fundraising strategies.

December 2013 – January 2017

Campus Church Planter, Karis Church, Jefferson City, MO

As a campus pastor planting a new campus, I raised funds, worked with the local Baptist association, handled roughly 50% of the preaching load, worked on leadership development, did the majority of the family counseling, led evangelistic initiatives and oversaw the small group ministry, and oversaw the campus budget.

August 2011 – July 2013

Church Planting Internship, Karis Church, Columbia, MO

As part of this internship, I both critiqued and received critique in preaching labs, led new ministry initiatives, helped develop and implement budgets, and other church infrastructure.

January 2009 – January 2017

Banker/Assistant Manager, Central Bancompany, Columbia/ Jefferson City, MO

As a customer service representative, I focused on both the service and sales sides of personal banking. This involved managing a branch of a local bank in Columbia, MO, towards annual sales goals in a competitive retail environment.

August 2006 – July 2008

Youth Director, Evangelical Free Church of Columbia, MO

In this role, I was responsible for coordinating 15 volunteer staff, discipling male students, planning youth events for the year, and teaching twice weekly, in addition to counseling parents and students, and leading the music ministry for the youth.
