Career:

After matriculating I did my National Service, seconded to the SA Navy where I completed Officers Course and attained the rank of Ensign.

I then attended the University of the Witwatersrand studying Building Science and graduated in 1989. I then worked in construction and completed my Private Pilot’s License.

I worked for Group 5 on their L&GV building in Sandton and on a shopping mall in Grahamstown as a site agent.

I then moved to Dawson and Fraser where I was project manager for the water reticulation and plumbing at The Carousel, I then went to Chobe and was project manager on the Mowana Lodge hotel. I worked for Dawson and Fraser on a few smaller jobs in and around Pretoria until the construction section was closed down.

I was then employed by Bartlett Construction where I was project manager for Willow View a housing complex, and also for them built Petrol stations and two FNB banks.

I then changed careers and went into aviation.

I then flew as a line Captain on the CRJ 200, until SAX closed in late 2020.

I was employed at Starlite Aviation in October 2021 flying in and around Mali, as FO, Captain and Line Check Captain on the B1900D as well as B200 in DRC.

I was an line Captain for Voyageur Aviation based in Kinshasa,DRC.

I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in September 2025 and had my license revoked, the thyroid was removed and I am cancer free, but CAA still has not reinstated my medical.

My most recent construction history was to renovate two houses in the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate, complete my NHBRC requirements, start to project manage a home in the Zandspruit Manor (which has not happened due lack of funding), and assist Eco Training in renovating their Makuleke camp in Pafuri.
