Provided leadership for FPL and contractor resources during the start-up, contract’s resolutions, claims settlements and project close out for the 800MW Martin Combined Cycle Project. Member of the Power Generation Business Unit Management Team. Completed project approximately $200 million under the original budget and met or exceeded project goals in the areas of schedule, safety and plant performance. Successfully moved risk and cost to suppliers while providing an opportunity for all suppliers to achieve gains by performance.

Provided support to the Project General Manager in the management of the Martin Project during various stages including engineering, procurement and construction by utilizing a quality management system with innovative approaches. Lead role in the negotiation of major contracts. Developed a lean Vendor QA Program. Team leader for the project benchmarking effort that set the tone for many innovative cost reduction options.

Project Control Supervisor (1988 – 1990)

Responsible for the development, implementation and reporting of all estimating, cost, planning and scheduling information during the pre-planning, contracts negotiations, licensing, permitting and preliminary engineering phase of the Martin Project.
