Mr. Dilip K. Das is a consulting engineer in Process Safety and Process Design, and is the Principal Consultant of Design and Safety, LLC, and also serves as non-employee part-time Principal Consultant of ioMosaic Corporation, Houston, TX. He is a recognized expert in DIERS (Design Institute for Emergency Relief Systems) technology with over 50 years of experience in process design and mechanical design of process equipment, and more than 30 years’ experience in Emergency Relief System design. He retired as a Principal Engineer at Bayer CropScience's Kansas City Plant and is the current Chair of the SuperChems Technical Steering Committee. He is a past Chair/Director of AIChE (Kansas City Chapter). He is the co-author of three books in Chemical Engineering, a contributing author in 3rd International Symposium on Runaway Reactions, Pressure Relief Design, and Effluent System, 2005 and the second edition of Guidelines for Pressure Relief and Effluent Handling Systems, author of numerous technical articles, and a holder of US patent. He has undergraduate education in India & Pakistan having placed first in the university in both and securing gold medals in chemical engineering. He graduated from University of Washington, Seatle, WA (MSChE) and has a diploma in AI in Chemical Engineering from MIT. He is a Fellow of AIChE, and a registered professional engineer in MO, and TX.

Principal Engineer/Pressure Safety Specialist (2001-2016), Pressure Safety Specialist (1997-2000) Relief system design using DIERS (Design Institute of Emergency Relief System) technology using such experimental apparatus as VSP (Vent Sizing Package), ARSST (Reactive System Screening Tools), and ARC (Accelerating Rate Calorimeter), and software like SuperChemsTM, CHEMCADTM, and PreVentTM. • Developed equipment to salvage short membranes in a Reverse Osmosis system, saving

$407,000.

• Designed plant scale agitator system for dyestuff reactors, reducing batch cycle time.

• Received a patent for developing a fail-safe, non-return dip tube for adding a chemical to a reactor.

• Received a free license of CHEMCAD simulation for helping them to develop relief sizing based on DIERS.
