David Stitt is Chairman and CEO of EnterAct Software, LLC, a firm dedicated to providing comprehensive financial planning tools and services to professional financial planning firms.
As a training consultant, he also teaches classes nationally for the Society of Certified Senior Advisors. His areas of focus are financial choices and legal aspects surrounding aging and government programs available to seniors including Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, and Veterans benefits.
He retired as the Financial Planning Specialist for the Chicago office of New England Financial. In this role, he provided financial planning expertise and support for 40 representatives. The office was in the top 5 agencies in the U.S. for financial planning production.
Before re-acquiring the Enteract software, David was Principal Technical Analyst for CCH, Inc. In this role, he served as the Domain Expert for Financial and Estate Planning products and had the responsibility for CCH Enteract and CCH ViewPlan, proprietary comprehensive personal financial planning and estate planning software programs, and Solutions for Financial Planning, an online reference written by practicing financial planners for financial planners. While at CCH, he led the development of Financial Notebook, an electronic data-gathering tool.
Prior to joining CCH, David joined with a group of former Successful Money Management executives to found LifeGoals.com, an Internet company that developed and marketed products and services to assist financial professionals in building and serving their client base. At LifeGoals, he was Director of Financial Planning where he was responsible for the development and support of LGX the proprietary financial planning software program that CCH acquired and subsequently marketed as CCH Enteract.
At SMMS he advanced through various positions including Product Manager Seminar Systems to his last position of Director of Education. In that role, he was responsible for developing the SMMS Academy that taught SMMS Associates about the financial planning industry. Earlier he was responsible for updating all of the existing seminars and wrote a seminar on the Taxpayer Reform Act of 1997. Under his direction, the updates were completed earlier than ever before in the history of the company.
While in Oregon, he was a licensed Tax Preparer and active as an officer and newsletter editor of the Beaverton Chapter of the Oregon Association of Tax Consultants.
Prior to joining SMMS Mr. Stitt was with Bailey & Associates, Inc., a retail financial planning firm, where his responsibilities included seminar presentations, financial plan preparation, and client management.

David was with Financial Planning Consultants, a nationally known resource for financial planners, for most of the 1980s and into the 90s. While there, he was responsible for all phases of operations and marketing connected with the development of the ProPlan software program designed for professional financial planners. His duties included plan design, supervision of programmers, sales and marketing, installation, training, and support. While with FPC he was also engaged in the practice of personal financial planning.
He is a graduate of Miami University, Oxford with a degree in finance and banking. He also earned the professional designations of Certified Financial Planner, Chartered Financial Consultant, Registered Financial Consultant, Certified Estate Planner, Certified Retirement Financial Advisor, Certified Senior Advisor, Chartered Life Underwriter, and is a candidate for the Master of Science of Financial Services degree from the College for Financial Planning.
He has spoken nationally about financial planning and computerization. His writings are published by Prentice Hall in “The Expert’s Guide to Managing and Marketing a Successful Financial Planning Practice," R&R Newkirk, in national trade publications such as Life Insurance Selling, and most recently authored “Federal Income Tax for Age 65 and Older” used in the Certified Senior Advisor certification study materials. David has also hosted a radio talk show, “Money Talks.”
Mr. Stitt formerly served as District Chief of Staff for the 8th Congressional District of Ohio where he had responsibility for all operations of the three district offices covering 8 counties in Southwestern Ohio and managed all financial functions including the Washington office allowances.
A life member of the Episcopal Church, he is an active Lay Eucharistic Minister and Worship Coordinator. David served two terms as Senior Warden and twice on the Vestry, additionally was a member of the rector search, finance, evangelism, and worship commissions. As chairman of the evangelism commission, he was instrumental in establishing a mission in a neighboring community. That mission became one of the fastest-growing churches in the diocese.
David is a Past Exalted Ruler of the Hamilton Lodge of Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. As Exalted Ruler, he chaired the management committee that managed a budget in excess of $2,000,000 and the $1,450,000 improvement program of adding a third nine holes of golf and related facilities. The Hamilton Lodge, composed of 2200 members, was the second largest Lodge in the State of Ohio.
David has a history of community involvement and is a Past President of the Chicago North Shore Council of FPA, Middletown Ohio Area Life Underwriters Association, Middletown Ohio Area Young Republican Club, Middletown Ohio High Twelve Club, Middletown Ohio Area Recycling Center, and the Middletown Ohio Lions Club. David is also a past Board of Directors member of the Dayton Ohio Chapter of FPA. As Zone Chairman of the Lions International, he assisted in forming a new Lions Club in a neighboring community. While living in Oregon and working at LifeGoals.com, he served as Chairman of the Budget Committee for the City of Tualatin, OR, and Director of the Tualatin Rotary Club. He currently is a volunteer at the Atrium Medical Center and an Ambassador for Baker, Stevens, and Parramore Funeral Home in Middletown.
