I start with Baker in Diyarbakir area and made a Sidetrack in a 12 ” section, in dolomite formation to avoid a lost in hole rotary BHA, client TPAO. I used 8” NaviDrill mud motor (Ultra XL and eXtreme) with double pin bend and half shell (shims).

High anti-collision thermal well in 17 ” section with changing the azimuth of 120 degree and building 20 degree, using 9 ” mud motor NaviDrill and Navi Trak MWD tool, in these HPHT geothermal wells, which can reach in time of drilling of 8 ” hole size, up to 200 C. Owners of these wells are 3S Kale Energy and Maspo Energy companies.

Made many and all the shape wells inclusive ERD wells with Mud motors and MWD, RSS, LWD, iPZIG, Gyro in Romania, Europe and Middle East.

In this time I lead the starting of the project with Petrofac in Ticleni area where it is very difficult to drill directional with a PDC bit and the distance from the sensor to the bit at 35-40m because of many LWD tools used in the BHA. I made also few sidetracks in old wells in this field through the milled window in the casing.

Mud motor and Power Drive in horizontal wells HPHT and ERD wells: Vata field, Totea and Coltesti field (Romania with Petrom), few wells in Turkey (with Shell), Austria (OMV), Poland and Germany.

Suplac field: directional J & S – shape and Horizontal wells. These very shallow horizontal wells I drilled them with iPZIG (which has GR and inclination at 1m from the bit), Gyro and Pathfinder (G2 or F2000) mud motors tools. The horizontal wells are probably the shallowest ERD wells from Europe and maybe from the world.

Power Drive and Vortex in Mamu field and in Germany (deep thermal wells, more than 4500m depth) and in Iraq with ORYX (Shell subsidiary).

Lead 2 directional teams in Suplac field for almost 2 years.

Drilled many sidetracks in Romania and Turkey were I made geothermal wells with Energy and with 4 ” tools at deep well with Shell and Eni.

I drilled with Power Drive 5 wells from the same cluster and also with the mud motor + MWD, many geothermal wells in Germany.

I worked in North Sea like Directional Driller with AutoTrak (RSS) and mud motors. In this time I drilled one ERD well initiated at the KOP with the mud motor and continue with RSS up to 25,000ft only the horizontal section, after we made an open hole sidetrack (poorly cemented the pilot hole) with 4 ” tools (slim RSS).

Personal reasons forced me to resign in July (my mum was operated).

I solved in this time many difficult tasks with big success. In few jobs I must use all my skills to finish very sensitive jobs with anti-collision of 4m distance between the well paths (we had exception agreement from client).

I used Pathfinder mud motors and MWD with Gamma ray, resistivity, iPZIG and Sonic tools in the BHA’s.

I drilled in Turkey few geothermal wells with Karisma Energy and one sidetrack in very hard rock (quartz) with big success.

The job was to indentify the limits of the iron ore. I finished 150 wells between 100m to 450m.

Directional Drilling

Etzel field, Germany - drilling 3 wells in S shape with no wiper trip for 1500m for 12 ”section.

I lead from the field 2 teams and I worked in the same time like Directional Driller Supervisor in Suplacu area, where Weatherford drilled 29 shallow wells. Every well was drilled in 6 days. All wells were drilled with more than 12 degree dogleg and 55 degree inclination in maximum 220m MD with 8” motors in section of 12 ” hole. All 29 wells were finished in 5 months with two teams and two rigs.

More than 30 wells with medium and short radius wells and 10 sidetracks after the cement plug or after the milling the casing and whipstocks

I used two types mud motors: Precission (MudLube) and Varidrill. Also, I used two types of MWD Precission, one which work with positive pulses and second EM MWD (electromagnetic MWD).

I drilled few geothermal wells in Austria at Kaprun and Zale Am Zee with Thermal Company like Directional Driller,

J and S-shape wells in Germany at Kiel, Eztel and Romania with Sterling Resources.

One horizontal well and 7 sidetracks in Romania with mud motor and MWD. Two sidetracks were made after the casing was milled and put a cemented whipstock.

I made also a river crossing in Germany with a special rig.

From May 2007 I started a project with Petrom SA – Group OMV to drill tree shallow wells (150 – 210m TD) in the area of Suplacu de Barcau, from Romania, where I achieved 50 degrees inclination in maximum 220m with 12-15 degree dogleg, in the hole size of 12 ” with the mud motor of 8”.
