1.Case Consulting – Herndon, VA – Full Stack Developer – HTML, CSS, Typescript, Angular 16, Java/Junit, Spring Boot, Python/pytest, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Terraform – Agile/Scrum ( 8/23 – 5/24 )

Continued working to maintain and add features to a text mining and language processing service hosted in

Amazon (the same system from previous work with The Bison Group). Major development efforts involved the creation and maintenance of a parallelized machine learning application running on AWS GPU-processing-based

instances, written in Python. Additional Python development involved a prototype machine learning algorithm to heuristically sort and filter data by topic distribution. Major Java development efforts included a multi-process database attachment, utilizing the Spring Boot framework.

2.The Bison Group – Reston, VA – Full Stack Developer, Tech Lead – HTML, CSS, Typescript, Angular 15, Java/JUnit, Spring Boot, Python/pytest, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Terraform – Agile/Scrum – ( 11/22 – 8/23 )

Led a team of developers to maintain and add features to a multi-tiered text mining and language processing

service hosted in Amazon. Developed server-side functionality in Java and Python. The Java server ran Spring Boot. Additionally, developed and maintained Python code instantiating, training and supporting machine learning models. Server-side Python processes were hosted using Flask. Additional Python development included a generalpurpose framework for instantiating and monitoring user-initiated long-running processes backed by Redis. Frontend development involved the Angular framework. Additional responsibilities included the configuration of AWS structures using infrastructure as code written in terraform. Code deployments and supporting workflows were managed with Jenkins, ArgoCD and Argo.

3.Amazon Web Services – Seattle, WA – Software Development Engineer II – HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Java/JUnit, Python/pytest, Ruby, Simple Workflow Service (SWF) – Agile/Scrum – ( 6/21 – 10/22 )

Developed and maintained a patching and upgrade system. Our product provided operating system updates to internal teams across Amazon. Flagship development was to implement a fault detection system regarding

cancellations of our routines. Later development efforts included implementation of a firmware upgrade feature to be added to existing services. This feature included HTML/CSS/JavaScript updates using the React framework with Ruby server-side components. These updates allowed the user to configure and initiate firmware upgrades via a web browser according to AWS standards for display and use. Additional server-side components were written in Java and Python.

4.Dulles Glass – Dulles, VA – Web Developer – HTML, CSS, Typescript, PHP, Java, DynamoDB – ( 1/20 – 11/20 )

Worked as a web developer to fix bugs and implement new features. Our website provided 3D modeling interactivity to users designing custom shower installations. Front-end development was done in Typescript.

Developed server-side functionality in PHP and Java. Worked remotely and largely independently to implement software solutions from specification. Responsibilities included working with Amazon Dynamo DB to design

efficient and scalable queries of database structures as well as database table management/development.

5.TraceLink – North Reading, MA – Software Developer – Java, Scala – ( 7/15 – 10/17 )

Integrated an existing program with client systems via web services to securely disseminate information for storage and processing. Customized plugin-supported client pharmaceutical serial number management systems using SOAP and http/https in Java/Scala. Provided connectivity to customers where connection options were otherwise

limited. Worked to provide scalability solutions for SSL certificate loading and XML processing in XSLT.

6.General Dynamics – Middletown, RI – Software Developer – JavaFx, Java – ( 3/15 – 7/15 )

Worked as an application developer using Java and JavaFx. Used JavaFx to make interactive GUIs using JXML and CSS. Developed a distributed system to provide interoperability of existing applications with a new client-side interface. This solution was therefore scalable and allowed client-side instances to run independently from existing services.

7.Superior Coin-Op – Fall River, MA – Software Developer – Java – ( 5/11 – 8/13 )

Updated a local application housing customer data. Developed in Java to provide a client-server application to host centralized database access of continuing and existing customer records. This application supported local access and included reporting functionality using Jasper Reports in Java.

“Cloud Detection for Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) Satellite Sea Surface Temperature (SST) Imagery Using a Multi-Layer Perceptron Neural Network”:

Existing methodologies of cloud detection and even state-of-the-art techniques focus on a statistical analysis of several images composing neighboring regions. These may be augmented using static properties of cloud pixels associated with satellite imagery. The neural network is a learning mechanism that can map any continuous function to an arbitrary accuracy. Using training data, the neural network recognizes patterns which may then facilitate classification. Using this

trained model, clouds can be detected in satellite imagery using a simple computation without prior knowledge of a region.
