Lead team in a web site re-architecture effort. This included redesigning the IIS virtual directories structure of the entire e-commerce web site, as well as, defining rules for future ASP coding and implementing those changes in all of several hundred web pages. The site was only down for less than a minute, while the IP address was switched to the new architecture and no new issues were opened as a result of the re-architecture effort.

• Solely responsible for the design and implementation of EDI transaction processing applications. The applications worked together as a system for exception processing and were configured by a Utility application, all of which were built in VB6 for Windows NT and used a SQL Server 7 database (T- SQL) for storing transaction data. The processing applications produced email and an attached report in PDF format. The Utility application was used to configure customer email and error destinations.

• Solely responsible for all Visual Source Safe administration duties.

• Solely responsible for design and implementation of Visual Source Safe database. I conceived/designed/implemented a three-tier VSS structure, which provided Development, QA Testing and Production sections for maintaining version control and production moves of ASP pages and Visual Basic back- end applications.

Solely responsible for the functional design, program design, programming, testing and implementation of a Windows 32-bit Linking/Data Transfer Communications Application for a Gas Corrector Manufacturing / Engineering Company. The applications are Windows 95/98/NT based and are used to transfer data to and from Mercury Instruments (Instruments are natural gas corrector and data collection electronic devices). The applications used custom protocols to communicate via modem, serial line, CDPD cellular modem, and via sockets and the Internet to a CDPD/TCP-IP modem. The applications also scheduled jobs and printed many types of reports and graphs.

• Maintaining MS Visual Source Safe library of source code including daily back-up rotation of weekly DB analysis / maintenance.

• Designed and implemented new features in Visual Basic 5.0 on the NT / 95 / 98 applications, Access 97.

Designed, built and tested Windows help files. Using Help Magician Pro, constructed and compiled dozens of .RTF (Rich Text Format) hyper-linked pages. These files were compilable into .HLP (Windows help) files and .html

(Web pages). Options included were; linking graphics, browser groups, keyword search, mid-topic jumps.

• Composed and implemented a full test plan for a Visual Basic 4.0 product. The product managed a user defined report queue which was tied into several other products via a print server using sharable objects defined in a class module. The test plan was a working document which was used interactively to step through the entire testing phase of development. 5

• Performed firmware/software testing of Hayes compatible modems. Work included the use of the entire AT command set for thoroughly testing every aspect of the modems functionality.

Solely responsible for the development of an MS Windows resource library database. Work was done in Visual Basic 4.0. The project involved developing MS Access Jet Engine database tables and a Windows GUI front- end. Functionally of the tool included but not limited to, tabled edits/updates, sorting per criteria, searching per criteria (case sensitivity, use of wild-cards), various exception and summary reports written in MS VB Crystal Reports.

1996-1997

Functioned as part of a round-the-clock team responsible for maintaining contingency and redundancy systems for remittance processing hardware and software.

• Provided support for an existing financial investment application. These remittance transports processed billions of dollars worth of transactions a year, twenty-four hours a day. Support of this application demanded on-the-spot, accurate, creative, and immediate solutions.

• As part of a team, performed full life cycle development for remittance processing applications, which were run on a BancTec 9500 remittance processing transport. Types of transactions processed included; credit card payments, retail investments.

• Designed, developed, implemented, and tested a version control system for software development. System functionally included; multiple user/multiple file check-in/out across a Novell network, file locking, password security, compressed time/date stamped source code back up. The project involved integrating components using the following tools; Visual Basic (for front-end), DOS batch files, ftp scripts, MS Pascal, CodeWright customized toolbars. Integration was seamless; implementation and testing were a complete success.

• Researched and wrote detailed reports on compiler heap error issues for DOS MS Pascal compiler. A senior Vice President requested me specifically for this task.

Used Visual Basic Crystal Reports to link to an Access Jet Engine RDBMS. Wrote quick sort for Visual Basic and used Visual Basic commands to implement several searching options (case sensitive, match from left, etc.). Wrote animated icon routines uses Visual Basic timers. Implemented the option for a Windows program to float always-on-top of all the other windows. Implemented the option for a Windows program to automatically iconify itself after an event is performed.
