From April to November 2023, I volunteered with Youth Making a Difference, spending a month living in a rural part of India as part of the program. During that time, I taught English and basic hygiene to young girls from underserved communities. University of Utah Alternative Breaks OCTOBER 2024 Student Volunteer

In October 2024, I participated in a week-long Alternative Breaks trip through the University of Utah, where I traveled to Oakland, California to learn about mass incarceration and the systemic issues tied to it. Throughout the week, we met with community organizations, spoke with people who had experienced incarceration firsthand, and explored how racism and classism shape the U.S. prison system.
