Makeathon: Personalized Wheelchair Assistive Device & Add-ons Fall 2024
● Participated in the Engineering x Occupational Therapy Make-A-Thon event, where teams were given 10 days to
create assistive technology devices for their clients.
● Collaborated with a team of OT and Engineering students to design a personalized wheelchair controller,
adjustable arm rest, and elbow bracket using Fusion360, and available tools in the makerspace.
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder Monitoring System Fall 2024- Spring 2025
● Built a portable breathing monitoring system designed to capture at-home respiratory metrics for patients in rural
communities with COPD
● Collaborated with team members to create an interactive interface for data collection and visualization using
JavaScript, C#, GitHub, and Unity-Arduino Bridge Integration
● Validation and verification tests were conducted; achieved 95% user satisfaction in project usability tests and 85%
accuracy from flow sensor readings
Toddler Mobility Trainer- Lead Manufacturer Spring 2025
● Led organization members in efforts to fabricate and fund a TOM Toddler Mobility Trainer Build party.
● Used a CNC router, bandsaw, and other woodworking tools to fabricate enough parts for 5 toddler wheelchairs.
● Collaborated with the finance chairs of the student organization to secure grant funding, meet with donors, and
manage over 100 items of inventory for the event to successfully take place.
● The event produced 4 functional wheelchairs, 2 of which were personalized and donated to families at the event.
