Connected a CAT 6 cable to a Powerline adapter plug to my Router I connected the other side to a unmanaged switch.
I have used GNS3 for basic switch router and pc topology. I use real Cisco switch and router images.
I have also used Cisco Packet Tracer when I was just starting to learn about topology and how they work.
