EXPERIENCE

IndyStar (Early Bird Distributors), Indianapolis — Assistant Carrier

April 2014 -January 2021

I was an assistant newspaper carrier since the age of 14. Duties of the job include preparing paper deliveries, following customer instructions

(bagged, wanting a rubber band, delivery location, etc.). Further duties include delivering the newspapers themselves, no matter what day or weather, demonstrating serious dependability.

Dollar General, Indianapolis — Shift Manager

June 2017- June 2018

I quickly received the shift manager position after working with Dollar General for approximately two weeks. Duties of the job included time management, customer service, checking in vendors, putting away truck deliveries, maintaining the store, counting drawers, making trips to the bank, and ensuring productivity of my team.

McDonald’s, Indianapolis — Crew Member

July 2018- December 2019

Working with McDonald’s was an easy job that still required a bit of skill, particularly in the customer service department. Time management was critical to ensure that customers received their food in a quick fashion while still maintaining food quality. Handling money and being able to accurately count change was a necessary skill, along with active listening. Bath and Body Works, Greenwood — Seasonal Sales Associate August 2019 - January 2020

Being a sales associate for Bath and Body Works required an immense amount of interpersonal skills, active listening, and customer service. I would greet customers and listen to them as we discussed scents that were preferred, not preferred, and assisting customers with people they were shopping for. I would do this by introducing them to our popular items and working our way further into the store. Furthermore, stocking was required before, during, and after hours. As expected in a retail setting, handling money and coupons was also an essential part of the job. SKILLS

CVS Pharmacy, Indianapolis — Pharmacy Technician

January 2020 - Present

CVS Pharmacy required many skills, but also taught many more. Attentiveness is absolutely important in choosing the right drugs, counting out the correct amount of pills, right down to what kind of bottle cap the patient prefers. Furthermore, it is important to maintain interpersonal skills, along with skills in customer service, and empathy as well. Along with working in the production zones, I have been responsible for inventory, maintaining cleanliness of the pharmacy, inputting prescriptions, and handling insurance issues such as incorrect patient information, non-formulary drugs, prior authorizations, etc. Furthermore, administering COVID tests have become an essential part of the job, along with administering vaccinations to patients. FedEx Freight, Indianapolis — Freight Handler

December 2022 - March 2023

I initially joined FedEx Freight as a part time job in addition to working full time as a pharmacy technician with CVS. FedEx Freight allowed flexibility to work nights while also earning a nice income. Unfortunately, my health severely declined and I had to leave the company on amicable terms. While at FedEx Freight, I was responsible for operating a forklift and moving pallets of freight from bays and inbound trailers to outbound trailers. This occupation specifically stresses safety and alertness, as recklessness and inattentiveness could result in damaged freight, meaning loss to the company, or even severe harm to others, potentially causing death. Through my short employment at FedEx Freight, I never had any damaged freight that was a result of my own doing, demonstrating that I take great care and pride in my work. I stressed to others the importance of keeping freight tied tightly to avoid tipping over, along with following proper protocol of when not to stack freight on top of each other (such as pharmaceutical drugs.) Additionally, this occupation requires great strength to maneuver some freight and ensure proper handling. An interesting key to this occupation is to also be mindful of weights, as too much weight or too little within certain areas of a trailer can lead to a collapsed to wobbly trailer on the road, creating danger for everyone. This job, while seemingly independent, required great teamwork to ensure proper loading, maximum freight/trailer ratio while maintaining safety, and loading freight in a timely manner with strict deadlines to ensure freight shipped on time as promised. commitment to studying and

EDUCATION

Southport High School Indianapolis — High School Diploma July 2014- May 2018

I graduated at Southport High School as 10th out of a class size of 500. Throughout my time here, I was on the varsity soccer team, advanced orchestra, a plethora of AP courses, and I also participated in speech and debate.

Butler University Indianapolis — Pharmacy,

Psychology/Criminology

August 2018 - January 2022

I entered Butler University studying pharmacy, but I have recently changed my major to a combined major of criminology and psychology. After completing my undergraduate degree in this field, I plan to continue to law school. It should be noted that I had to put a hold on my education for unfortunate financial reasons.

Ivy Tech Community College Indianapolis — Legal Studies August 2024 - Current

After an extended hiatus from school, I enrolled in Ivy Tech for the Legal Studies program. My goal here is to achieve an Associate of Science in Legal Studies degree. From there, I hope to attend a four year university such as Indiana University Indianapolis for a bachelor’s degree. Ultimately, I would like to achieve a Juris Doctor degree.
