Database Manager & Reporting Systems Administrator

During my time at Wayside Youth and Family Services, I started as a new Administrative Assistant, I was given the database to maintain until a new director was appointed. Once the director was up to speed, they made the decision to have me be the databases sole manager. Once given free reign, I set about figuring out how the database could better serve us and reformulated key tracking points. Making the data needed more readily available in one space. I then created new templates that would gather information relevant to maintaining the data needed for area wide reporting. With these new forms, I was able to give the director detailed information needed for meetings with DCF. The new templates made gathering information easier for the service coordinators.

These forms streamlined our data collecting. Once my director brought our reports to a regional meeting, other offices in the state requested the templates for their own data collection. The whole system was easier to navigate on the occasions when the director wanted to peruse the database for themselves and the service coordinators were able to give me parameters and I could pinpoint the information needed in a fraction of the time it use to take. Under my management of the database, everyone benefitted. At the same time I performed my regular administrative duties.
