Main responsibilities are as the primary support for Banner Payroll, HR business applications, peripheral systems and tools, HR Datamart, Kronos, as well as additional support in other business modules when and if deemed necessary such as Workflow. Support can be defined as Code enhancements / modifications to existing systems as assigned; the scale of these projects typically range from small to large and, at times, complex. To coordinate with clients to define potential implementation windows for complex applications, taking into account clients’ business cycles and university processing schedules. Also, in order to provide ongoing client service, consult on issues and requests from customers that require the implementation or creation of a custom solution. Work with senior level decision makers, on an ongoing basis, to discuss alternative technical solutions. Recently have been involved with the Banner XE project
Co-Owner, Oakwood Park Corporation High Point, NC, January 1985 – January 2011
•A service-oriented small business co-owner in the Piedmont area for the last 25 years, which expanded to Lee County, NC in 2002. An accredited member of the North Carolina Cemetery Commission and the only family owned cemetery business in the Piedmont. Responsibilities include any/all technical decisions made for company and any day-to-day issues as needed.
•Over the past 6.5 years, have been dedicated to the analysis, design, and the purchase of software and equipment to computerize and to update the business.
•Technical responsibilities include hardware and software purchases that must conform to the North Carolina Commission standards. Data warehousing governed by data integrity and the elimination of data redundancy, as a result of effective business processes, and quality monthly financial statements to the State, are key; the business has consistently met these guidelines each month since it began. MS Access and VB Oracle have been the software environments used for this particular business arena.

IS Management/Consultant, Mercury Data Systems Greensboro, NC, September 1997 – March
2003
•Project Leader at Hanes Underwear, co-managing all Business Applications support for Hanes administrative offices. This involved all online and batch maintenance and upgrades on the IBM Mainframe and conversion file feeds to new SAP Oracle databases. Co-managed a staff of 10 programmers by providing them with daily assignments and troubleshooting; acted as liaison between technical support and client/users. Personally managed all UNIX databases used for daily business processes and nightly batch (job scheduling) by 15+ manufacturing plants. This included governing all strategic reporting for data integrity between plants and administration using SQL scripting.
•Systems/Testing Consultant at Lucent, Guilford Center, McLeansville, NC to assist in Year 2000 compliance of Peoplesoft as well as the conversion to SAP Oracle environment and the formation of two new companies: Avaya and Agere. Acted as a coordinator and quality/test consultant between applications and user community. Data warehousing was the major effort to prepare for the Year 2000 and following this, the SAP conversion and new companies data separation. Responsible for building and maintaining all Oracle test databases for this purpose, using PL/SQL scripting on UNIX. Also responsible for working with users to develop strategic reporting tools for new environment while building PL/SQL scripts to ensure data integrity and the elimination of data redundancy.
•Lucent met all compliance standards for the year 2000.
•The SAP conversion for Human Resources was a success as well as the spin-offs of Avaya and Agere.
Senior Systems Analyst, Ciba-Geigy (Novartis), Greensboro, NC November 1989 – September
1997
•As Systems Analyst, personally responsible for all Order Processing, Marketing, Inventory and Logistics systems for Ciba-Geigy Seed division. This included all online and batch/nightly job scheduling, maintenance, troubleshooting and upgrades for 8 plant sites across the U.S. The initial environment was HP.
•Was selected as U.S. Administrative (IS) employee of the year for the division in 1992.
•As Senior Systems Analyst with Ciba-Geigy Seed, was Project Leader for the Order Processing, Inventory and Logistics systems conversion to Oracle databases, Oracle reporting, and Oracle forms for online processes, on the VAX. Responsibilities included analysis, design and applications development for all based on the needs of the users (non-technical staff). Also was the liaison between administration, users and technical staff, for any and all hardware/software/application decisions. Also responsible for data warehousing for these systems with the conversion; data integrity, quality, redundancy issues were addressed with PL/SQL scripting to produce strategic reporting. A part of technical management team in installation of new LAN / WAN network infrastructure for administrative offices and remote plants.
•As Senior Systems Analyst with Ciba Animal Health, shared head responsibility for Payroll, Order Processing, Inventory, Logistics and Marketing Oracle systems on the VAX . This included maintaining data integrity, strategic reporting, troubleshooting day-to-day issues and technical needs of the users, which included 10 distribution centers, customer service, and 5 production plants. The challenge to all of this, at the time, was the recent rollout of the product lines Interceptor and Sentinel into the world pet market. This division and its needs grew very rapidly with the success of these two products; it was a challenge to maintain and upgrade to keep up with demand. Business intelligence and the ability to identify technical needs (of technical or non-technical users) and the solutions were key factors.

•Initially hired to aid Hanes Printables with its conversion from Honeywell environment to IBM Mainframe platform, which included moving into a Datacom database environment (first time) using CICS, Cobol and IDEAL. The process eventually evolved into a merging of 2 divisions and the purchase by Sara Lee Corporation.
•Selected as Project Leader/developer/implementer/user liaison for the Supply Inventory System for 8 Hanes plants after only 7 months of employment. This project involved a conversion from indexed files to database, from CICS programs to IDEAL/Datacom programs, creation of new job scheduling from batch to online/batch updating, user training and maintenance. Was successfully implemented on time.
•Selected as Systems/Business Analyst to convert manufacturing plants to AS400 and the tracking of all inventory, finished goods, and processed by barcode. Personally traveled to all 18 plants to oversee implementation, user training and troubleshooting. The conversion was successful.
Programmer Analyst, Jefferson-Pilot Insurance Co, January 1985 – July 1987
•Maintained and upgraded the Jefferson-Pilot Client Group Health Claims system on the IBM Mainframe.
•Co-developed and successfully implemented the new JP Precertification system for Healthcare using CICS, online/batch updating, new job scheduling, developing user manuals, user training and maintenance.
