Polysomnography Technician Job Duties:

Performs pololysomnograms on patients to determine the cause and treatment for a patient’s sleeping problems. Responsible for on a daily basis include:

Obtaining Insurance eligibility with appropriate diagnosis

Obtaining Insurance verifications and authorizations for testing

Scheduling of Patients for testing during hours of sleep

Perform polysomnograms on patients

Monitor patient vital signs prior to sleep, attach various electrodes, sensors onto the patient to monitor brain activity during sleep.

Knowledge of equipment to monitor a patient's breathing patterns during sleep.

Monitor patient during sleep studies, Document and test data, Record Findings about all observed behaviors, notate body movements during sleep, abnormal breathing patterns or irregular brain functions.

Gathering all necessary data, write findings in reports and submit reports to physicians for diagnosing and treatment options

Conduct Patient interview, assessment and evaluations, teaching provide patients information on how to change lifestyle habits to obtain more restful sleep sessions.
