Scott Glenz joined Devcon Construction, Inc. in September of 2011 in the capacity of Assistant Project Superintendent and was promoted to Project Superintendent in August of 2013. Scott brings with him some 15 years of construction experience.
PROJECT EXPERIENCE:
GOOGLE B47 – JIA CAFE REMODEL, Mountain View:
Partial first floor tenant improvement including selective demolition of existing kitchen, lobby and open office areas. New work includes installation of new walls, ceilings, finishes, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection to kitchen café, completely new Micro Kitchen and lobby areas. In addition, the existing exterior tower was fully enclosed with a new glass and glazing system to create a new interior space.
GOOGLE MOFFETT PLACE – BUILDINGS 1, 2 AND 5 WITH SITEWORK, Sunnyvale:
943,056 SF tenant improvement consisting of three 8-story buildings and sitework to create connections and amenities between buildings. The project includes new staff workstations and team offices, conference rooms, huddle rooms, phone rooms, lounge spaces, techtalks, visitor spaces, game/music rooms, fitness / wellness areas, massage rooms, meditation rooms, private exterior terraces, additional restrooms and showers, and lab spaces. The project also features four full service anchor cafés with associated kitchens and back of house spaces, and several smaller food service areas amongst the three buildings. Additionally, the project consists of interior site improvements adjacent to all buildings, featuring athletic fields, exterior meeting space, and a bridge connecting Building 2 with the park on top of the adjacent parking structure. The project will receive a LEED Gold rating.
GOOGLE – 1395 CHARLESTON ROAD, Mountain View:
Project consisting of total interior demolition and renovation of a 42,696 SF building to be used as a training facility consisting of training rooms, cafeteria with outdoor dining deck and video recording studio. Project also includes seismic retrofit of existing structure and replacement of all rooftop HVAC equipment.
GOOGLE – 501 ELLIS STREET, Mountain View:
25,598 SF tenant improvement project consisting of office and conference space and a courtyard showcasing a multi-level deck landform structure. The space includes multiple architectural features in keeping with an extreme sports theme, such as an overhead rock climbing structure, hiking shelters, hang gliders and a tree-climbing-themed break room. The project also includes all new rooftop HVAC equipment and roof screen. This project will receive a LEED Gold rating.
GOOGLE – 515 ELLIS STREET, Mountain View:
Complete interior demolition and renovation of a 28,940 SF building, including seismic retrofit and rooftop equipment demolition. The building includes a cafeteria, office and conference space and laundry facilities, all with a water sports theme. Features include an overhead wakeboarding wave structure at the main lobby, as well as a SCUBA diving-themed open area with graphic scrims suspended beneath skylights. This project will receive a LEED Gold rating.
GOOGLE 475 ELLIS– SALES HEADCOUNT, Mountain View:
Project consisting of interior demolition and renovation of 22,998 SF within a 60,000 SF building utilized for office space. The project also includes new outdoor amenity and seating area, sidewalk upgrades, structural upgrades, and replacement of all rooftop HVAC equipment. The space serves as an acoustically sound environment.
GOOGLE QUAD PHASE 2, BUILDINGS 1 & 2 AND POOL – WHISMAN ROAD/ELLIS STREET, Mountain View:
140,000 SF project including complete interior demolition, new office space, conference rooms, MEP system upgrades, and specialty areas such as a small recording studio. Exterior sitework includes a new four lane recreational pool, restroom/pool equipment building, exterior seating area, and adjacent dog park. This project will seek a LEED Gold CI rating.
GOOGLE QUAD PHASE 1, BUILDINGS 3-7 – WHISMAN ROAD/ELLIS STREET, Mountain View:
332,000 SF project including complete interior demolition, new office space, complete MEP systems upgrade, a wellness center, a fitness center, and three new cafeterias within five buildings. Project features photovoltaic panels, a solar hot water system, new roof skylights, and an Ice Bear unit to improve energy performance. Exterior sitework includes a volleyball court, bocce court, dog park, expansive lawn, water features, wood sidewalk, and amphitheater style seating. This project will receive a LEED Gold Campus rating and a separate LEED Platinum CI rating for the amenity building.
GOOGLE – COMPLIANCE LAB, Mountain View:
Project consisting of exterior modifications to a 14,000 SF building including demolition of the existing roof and installation of new roof and extension of perimeter walls. Tenant improvement include all new rooftop equipment, labs, multiple test chambers, conference rooms and break room.
222 CASPIAN, Sunnyvale:
96,000 SF renovation of an existing building featuring structural modifications to include a new lobby area. Shell and core modifications consist of demolition, replacement of exterior skin, upgraded HVAC, lighting, and roof systems. Project also features and upgrade to the restrooms, as well as new landscaping and hardscape for the site. The project includes a partial tenant improvement scope to produce a market ready space.
UNIVERSITY OF SAN FRANCISCO LONE MOUNTAIN NORTH INFILL PROJECT, San Francisco:
Seismic retrofit and structural infill of an existing seven-story building containing dorm rooms, a ballroom, and auditorium. With the building located on the side of a hill, micropiles were installed to bedrock and new grade beams were used to reinforce the foundation and new concrete shear walls were installed from foundation to roof for seismic reinforcement. The 7th floor bridge which connects Lone Mountain North building to Lone Mountain Main building was also seismically reinforced. The project included an expansion of the basement level and a structural infill of the two-story ballroom and auditorium space to create two new floors for new dorm and office space. The top four floors of dorm rooms remained fully occupied during construction.
BRIDGEPOINTE RETAIL CENTER, San Mateo:
Demolish existing Fashion Island shopping center and construct new retail
center consisting of six concrete tilt-ups including tenant improvements consisting of approximately 185,000 SF. Access to the new Bridgepointe Center required the construction of new public streets that continued "Fashion Island Boulevard" (later renamed Bridgepointe Drive) through the project site and connected with an existing street on the other side of the project. The improvements included 3 intersections, 2 with traffic light controls, enhanced pavement areas at the intersections to the new shopping center and access to the new commercial/residential project.
UNIVERSITY OF SAN FRANCISCO KALMANOVITZ HALL RENOVATION & EXPANSION, San Francisco:
Design and construction for the seismic retrofit and tenant improvement of the 110,000 SF Kalmanovitz Hall building with a 7,000 SF addition that connects Kalmanovitz Hall to Cowell Hall. The tenant improvements include faculty and department offices, and new classrooms for the Arts & Sciences Center. Project also features some historical restoration and new construction to simulate the historical nature of the building.
APPLIED BIOSYSTEMS, Pleasanton:
960,000 SF project consisting of one 3-story and one 2-story buildings totaling 660,000 SF and a Central Utility Plant. Shell construction features sandblasted, precast panels, glass and aluminum skins with radiused metal roof screens to adhere to the LEEDS Green Building Criteria. Tenant Improvement construction consists of a manufacturing facility, clean rooms, stainless steel double contained hazardous waste systems and state of the art laboratories with custom designed and fabricated chemical distribution systems. This project is also accompanied by very elaborate landscaping and consists of many fountains, a stream feature, pedestrian paths and an extension/rehabilitation of an old Sycamore creek that once crossed the property when the Ohlone Indians controlled the lands in the area. Sports activity areas and functioning outdoor spaces are also being planned to take advantage of the existing three-acre lake and fountain feature that exists on the existing, picturesque, 80 acre site. Other features include a data center, fitness center, daycare and cafeteria.
