I started off by learning rigging and knot tying, which involves using friction devices, blocks, and pulleys along with specialized knots to safely lower heavy timber. While someone is in the tree, I ensure they are tied in correctly and that their cuts are precise, which we call Precision Felling. Executing advanced directional face cuts, back cuts, and wedging techniques to drop trees exactly where intended without property damage. Additionally, I make sure that the cuts are lowered safely to the ground and take measures to ensure everyone's safety. Once the tree is lowered to the ground, the team I’m with unties everything while I grab the chainsaw. I cut the tree in a way that makes it easier for everyone to chip the wood into the trucks without getting stuck or caught on anything. We repeat this process until the tree is at the desired height. Then, we tie a rope to it, and our lead person cuts the stump while the rest of us pull the tree over to the ground. Once on the ground, we cut the wood according to the customer's preference. If they want it in specific sizes, we accommodate their choice; otherwise, we take larger pieces back to the shop to cut into firewood. This bar initially focused on simple shots and beers until I was hired. With no prior knowledge in this field, I decided to concentrate on mixology techniques, such as crafting house-made syrups, fat-washing, clarifying liquids, smoking cocktails, and precise free-pouring. I used only the ingredients available at the bar to create multiple drinks that satisfied customers and helped increase sales by 20 percent in the first six months. After noticing my improvement, I reached out to management and requested them to bring in other bottles for me to test my knowledge further. When they agreed, I really committed to it and tried 10 new drinks for every shift I worked. After a year at the bar, I became the manager and took charge of all orders. I visited other bars and restaurants to ask their managers if I could leave flyers and other promotional materials to attract customers to our bar.
