To whom may concern:
It is a pleasure to submit my application for the position of CONSTRUCTION PROJECT ADMINISTRATOR I.. This is a capstone opportunity for a more than 25 year career in Construction Industry most of which was in South Florida. As mentioned in the job posting there are a number of special skills necessary to be successful. Considering myself as a dynamic individual who utilize creativity, leadership and teamwork to develop and execute solutions that reduce time and cost on any construction project.
Please allow me to match my history with the stated requirements:
1) Positive, progressive, strong, energetic and hard working: Simply stated my work ethic is finely tuned
and my days are as long as they need to be to get the job done. Achieving goals set by each individual project the through personal and team input and advice. Mobilizing a dedicated staff of professionals who take pride in their actions and who enjoy their work and their colleagues has always been an underlying principle of my management style. Progressive thinking out of the box to help the project reaches completion through having an open mind and encouraging ideas from any source.
2) Look at problems as opportunities rather than stumbling blocks: Said another way “Is the glass half
Empty or half full?” Life has been good to me and my family. We have all had our challenges and have
Overcome many situations which could have been viewed as insurmountable. My view is that there are
Always solutions. Careful inclusive analysis and working with the resources you have available will
deliver a path to solve any problem.
3) Partnering with different professionals from the Construction Trade in a respectful manner. It is the
responsibility of the Project Administrator to be transparent and forthright while understanding that once policy decisions are made, he/she is to carry out those decisions in the most effective manner possible. It is also the responsibility of the Project Administrator to give feedback to the Manager as needed and to openly communicate the background of all requests for action.
4) Integrity, honesty and transparency: Review of my resume will show a number of assignments
related to ethics and oversight of different construction projects in South Florida. These assignments
generally occurred when an organization was in trouble and needed a steady hand to establish a glide
path to better behavior. My definition of “transparency” is to operate without guile and to ensure that
all the facts are put on the table even if some are not pretty. One of my mentors advised “Always tell
the truth and then you won’t have to remember what you said.” Simply stated, it is a waste of time and
energy to always having to cover your tracks.
5) Wide array of skills: My resume reflects a diverse career in the construction industry in Florida. My private sector career included Related group, IBA Consultants, RC Aluminum, Zuma Group, Sonesta group, many Hotels and restaurants .
Thank you for the opportunity.
Sincerely:
Gabriel Longva
