September 2022 – December 2025: Nutritionist, Family Health Centers Inc., Orangeburg, SC. Provided outpatient nutrition services to patients of all ages at seven of the agency clinics. Most of my patients, ranging from 0 – 90 years, presented with cardiovascular conditions, including but not limited to obesity, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, Chronic Kidney disease and failure to thrive, among others.

June 2022 –August 2022: Clinical Dietitian, Prisma Health Tuomey, Sumter SC, as a traveling Clinical Dietitian. Provided clinical nutrition services to patients on admission at the Hospital.

November 2014 – Jan. 21, 2022.: Renal Dietitian, Fresenius Medical Services Company, Sumter Dialysis Center, Sumter, South Carolina. Duties include; Provide patient specific detailed education to patient/family/caregiver regarding nutritional status, adequacy measures and results. Completes nutritional assessment and participates in interdisciplinary comprehensive assessments and to develop written, individualized comprehensive plan of care that specifies the services necessary to address patient’s need based on his/her laboratory numbers and in accordance with established Federal/State licensure guidelines.

2003 – 2014: Diabetes Educator/Nutrition Consultant and (since 2010),

Coordinator, ADA Recognized Diabetes Education program at the Carolina Diabetes & Kidney Center/Sumter Medical Specialists, Sumter, South Carolina.

Duties: Provided diabetes and/or nutrition education/counseling for people living with: diabetes or at risk of diabetes, Chronic Kidney disease, dialysis and diabetes, weight management, blood pressure, cholesterol and other cardiovascular diseases. Coordinated the activities of the ADA Recognized Diabetes Education program which included preparing & sending periodic reports to ADA, making sure the program abides by the rules & regulations required by the ADA throughout the recognition period.

November 2008 – July 2013: Coordinator, SC WISEWOMAN Program, Division of Cancer Prevention and Control, DHEC. Duties: Responsible for coordinating the activities of the WISEWOMAN Program including training of program staff, grant renewal and quarterly reports to CDC, liaison with participating organizations and the CDC.

July 1999 - 2001: Health Communication/Coalition Manager for the South Carolina Diabetes Prevention and Control Program. March, 1995 - June, 1999: Coordinator, South Carolina Diabetes Control Program -Duties: Responsible for the overall coordination of the South Carolina Diabetes Control Program activities including supervision of staff, management of the funds received from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), responsible for grant renewal and quarterly reports to CDC, liaison with participating organizations and the CDC.
