-Personally cultivated a professional IT consultation service involving 7-10 households that I performed computer repair tasks for on a monthly basis. This was a rotating set of households determined by month to month needs over the past two years. Tasks performed included any and all repairs needed. Ranging from complete household revamp and selection of new technology to repair of existing technology as well as restoration of outdated technology. To whom it may concern,

I have an old XP and a newer XP that was upgraded to a 7. I also had a flat screen monitor on the old XP, and an old, original monster of a monitor, although it was a ‘smaller’ monitor for its day, on the 7. Mr. Wm. McReynolds was recommended to me by a friend, as I was having some logistic issues with them. So, my main issue with the two computers: I wanted to keep the old XP, not use it online, but still have access to the files, until I could download them off. But I had limited space for my monitors, and the other bulky monitor didn’t leave me with much space, with two keyboards and a printer. I knew it was possible to have two CPU’s connected to one monitor, but I couldn’t find anyone to explain to me how it could be done (including computer people). I had looked on-line at different possibilities, but couldn’t find explanations on how they were connected, to know what to buy. Mr. McReynolds not only understood what I was wanting to do, but he explained what my newer flat screen monitor had (the ‘old’ screw-in plug.) He explained that the newer monitors had only the ‘plug in’s’ now, not the screw type, and they had two, sometimes three slots available. But some still might have a screw-in and a plug-in. I went to look at the new monitors, and none had a screw-in available. And I couldn’t afford a new monitor. Mr. McReynolds went online and found me a manual switch, A and B, that could take the screw-in plugs, so now I can use both computers with one monitor. He also found me a stand to mount my monitor on, off my desk, so I would have more workspace on my desk. Another issue I had, was my newer monitor did not have a camera, and I didn’t want to ‘add’ a camera to it. And, as the ‘7’ was going to be phased out, and I needed a laptop for a class, Mr. McReynolds helped me assess what I was needing and wanting in the laptop. He also researched different companies and found a laptop that had what I was wanting at a very reasonable price, and ordered it for me and helped me set it up.

Another issue that came up, was with my cellphone. One day my keyboard changed to a different language! I have no idea how it happened, as there are several ‘steps’ that you have to take to even get to the keyboard setting. Anyway, Mr. McReynolds was able to walk me through it, over the phone, to get to the setting to change it back to English (it had switched to Indonesian!) I have been very pleased with the service Mr. McReynolds has provided for my technology issues. He is very pleasant and courteous, and takes the time to explain how things work so that you understand what is happening and why. And his prices are reasonable. I highly recommend him.
