Care for developmentally disabled adults in their own homes to help them maintain an independent lifestyle. Help them become more active in their communities by taking them out to community events, taking them shopping, helping them achieve goals of employment, and helping them understand all daily life functions including budgeting of their money without telling them how to live or what to do day to day. The job is to guide them to find better practices not prevent mistakes. Most of the time it is helping to maintain a clean orderly home for the client and help prepare meals while helping with concerns and day to day struggles the client has.

Lake County Behavioral Health / Lucerne, CA
Emergency Event Outreach worker 11/02/2015 – 05/06/2016
I worked in a team to provide resources and encouragement to the survivors of the Valley Fire in Lake County. I helped form community groups for survivors to have a safe place to come and talk about their struggles without fear of repercussions. I worked with cornerstone agencies to provide referrals to survivors in need of guidance on what was available in their community. I encouraged independence for each survivor I encountered and empowered them to continue to move forward with their life.
Skills
I can learn whatever is put before me with minimal instruction. I have a broad base of learning though not from a school setting, but from living those skills. I have mostly been a homemaker and managed a household of 8 people (six kids and two adults). I have worked in healthcare in varying degrees from skilled nursing homes to a med surge floor in a hospital to in home health services when needed (For about 8 years cumulative). I also worked for Trinity school for a time providing care for the youth that called that facility home. I am a capable woman willing to take on most anything that is an honest endeavor. I have been trained as a CNA in (around) 1999 (No longer certified), Peer Support Specialist Training in Lake County around 2014, and had Asist training (suicide prevention) Also in Lake County around 2014, I have also had the training through SAMHSA for Emergency Crisis Counseling Assistance and Training Program CCP back in 2015 to provide the needed emergency outreach in Middletown due to the devastating fire that went through that area.
